So, I bombed my semester exam and failed for semester. I don't need the class to graduate, but does anyone know if it effects me in any other way?

Well, you may not be able to apply to certain colleges because you failed a semester unless you retake it. That class is now on your transcript.

The info you provided ain't quite complete. There are a lot of other factors too in this. For example, is this an isolated failure? Admission officers are okay with a single C or D or F sticking out of in a sea of A's and B's. What college are you looking for? Some UCs can turn a the cheek while the Ivies (and Stanford) pretty much have sorted you out already. Just some more information to better calm your fears.
