Sorry to hear that.
I know how you feel. I actually had my car stolen 3 years ago and when it was found, it looked like all the thieves did was pull out the stereo system ... but just leave it on the passenger seat with the wiring still intact like an umbilical to the dashboard. It's as if they stole the car first with the intention of stealing the stereo equipment at another place ... only to find that it was a crappy stereo to begin with and decided it wasn't worth the effort to even take it. Sheesh. Instead, all I was left with was a severely vandalized vehicle. Oh well.
Hopefully, you'll have insurance to pay for the damages and replacement!

I woke up to the same thing one morning. My windows were smashed out and the door locks were pried out on both sides of the car. The theives jacked my stereo but spared my loose change that was visible and uncovered (go figure). Sorry to hear PaNgIeE, wish we could've pitched in and got you a car alarm for Christmas...

my now brotherinlaw was always bragging about how his neighborhood was 10x more safe than my neighborhood. yeah well, one day, maybe a week or month from the day he said that, he got car jacked! they took his ponitac about several miles to an abandoned parking lot. took his leather seats, stole his stero, and the wheels, AND the engine, god. lol, well, i would see why, his car was pretty well equiped, lol, but hey...its funny now that you think about it, well, to me. haha, and then, he took his car, well, what was left of it, to this f-ed up body shop, who charged him several years into his life, but the only job they did on it was use rubberband to hold things together. lol, kinda my sis's fault for telling him to go there in the first place, since it was within the "family" business, some family eh..haha, but thats another story.

Im surprised people don't target GPS units as much... they are definitely worth more and are very portable. Most leave it suction cupped to the windshield so its easy to see, easy to remove.
I know im being weird, but I wonder whats preventing your car from starting. After a lot of thinking... I think you should check your fuses. Especially the standby fuse and the main fuse. I figure if they pulled it out and cut it, its possible for things to have gotten shorted to blow some fuses to prevent it from starting. Otherwise I can't think of what else could have broken...

Okay here is my sad car story...well not mine but a coworkers. She told me her car got broken into 6 times
Finally in a fit of anger (or craziness) she went out and brought spray paint and sprayed randomly all over the car, all different colors hoping to make it a less attractive target....
the car hasn't been broken into since and that was about 6 years ago
Hope things look up for you soon

Well, let me actually tell you what happened to my car last night. My stereo wasn't stolen, which I thought it was from what my sis-in-law was telling me when she checked on my car last night. However, it looked like they were trying to hotwire my car and steal it. They did a very poor job. They tore the bottom part under the steering wheel and I can see wires hanging everywhere. Also, parts were on my passenger seat. UGH!
How they got in? They used a crow bar and jacked thru my passenger side door and got in thru there. OMG! I'm so pissed still thinking about it. My car won't get fix until the week after next b/c yesterday we started having snow and so there were accidents left and right so they are busy at the auto shop. I'm just so pissed off about the whole ordeal. I wanna just jack whoever jack my car up....grrrrr
Oh yea! I got off work at 6pm last night to check on my car and then I called the cops..they came and got a report done b/c its considered as a theft. After that, I had to wait an hour for the tow truck to come. I didnt make it home until 11pm last night. I was so freaking tired, hungry, and pissed off. What a night!!!
I'm at work again today. Different car.....this holiday season is not looking bright for me. I've been sick and my car just got hotwire, almost stolen, and I am not even done w/shopping too! OMG! OMG! OMFG!

I was at work yesterday when this happened. I work at a hospital. My car was parked outside on the streets. I'm assuming the car was broken into around 5-5:30pm...when it was getting dark outside. I work in St. Paul, MN but I live in Coon Rapids, MN which is like half hour drive back and forth.

His civic? O_O
I've had my rim cap stolen off my integra a few times at school. My sister's integra they ripped out her smoke corners like 2-3 times (at the mall and in front of our house) and also her GSR rims were stolen off our driveway (they left her car sitting on bricks, cops couldn't do anything) and her emblem's been stolen before too.
Some people.....*curses*
