i graduated from science not too long ago and am currently earning a reasonable salary diagnosing health problems in hospital patients while they are asleep...

i now have an opportunity to study dentistry in a graduate-entry program and am wondering whether it's worth it or not...

pros:
-regular 9 to 5 hours
-it's crossed my mind several times before, i've done some research on the work and i think i'd be good at it
-had previously worked in a lab researching proteins that could potentially be used in a mouthwash sweatingbullets.gif and am quite interested in the research side of things
-get to be called doctor
-better career development opportunities

cons:
-having to leave a unique and "laid-back" role that i'm good at
-having to work five days instead of three nights.
-starting salary upon graduation wouldn't be a great deal better than what i'm currently on
-four more years of full-time study, meaning no income.
-the university is in a different state where accomodation costs are pretty high.

you reckon i should keep travelling on my current path and see where it takes me, or go back to the start and take a different, potentially better path?
