okay, so today i woke up and got ready to go to work at noon. i walk out of my apartment to find that my parking spot is vacant. ohmy.gif i called my boss to tell her i can't go in today and i told her the reason why and she still wanted me to go in. so i had my dad drive me to work. i got off of work at 7:30 and my dad just got the call that we were to pick up our car in 20 minutes or else it would towed. dry.gif but my car was like 45 minutes away from i live. so my dad told them to give us least 30 minutes. and when we got there, i expected like missing rims, seats, and cd player. but they weren't. instead they took the weirdest things: canadian coins at a value of probably around 3 dollars, all of my cds (which doesn't make sense since they were chinese and korean cds. ), the remote control to the apartment gate, and everything in my glove box (insurance card, registration, etc). BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS THERE. and i'm like wtfff!! i know i'm lucky to find my car in the way it was (except for the cigarette smoke and cigarette butts everywhere) but i dont understand why they didn't take the normals things that are supposed to be stolen. and the gas tank was halfway full. usually wouldn't they waste all the gas and then leave it someplace? i just don't get it. what kind of theif does that?

i don't know. i'm just really mad yet confused. they also took my paycheck stuff. not like the paycheck itself but like when you rip the check off and theres that bottom portion to it. it has my work place address and my info. i don't know why they would take that. but yea, now they know where i work and stuff. i just think it's weird to steal a car and not take things like seats, cd player, tires, etc. don't get me wrong, i'm lucky. but something just seems fishy about all this. there was totally nothing valuable in there. no left over presents or money. and my car is old!! 91 honda civic accord. ugh, whatever. i'm just happy i found it. now i just wanna move out of my apartment and find someplace else to live.

oh yeah, i'm thinking it was these people that might've stolen my car. there's a mexican who lives below me and he's always working on his prelude and everytime i would walk downstairs to my car, he'd always give me these looks. and last night after coming home from work, he was in his car with a couple of buddise of his and i'm thinking it was probably him and his friends. but i'm not totally sure.

Same thing happened to my moms Accord but it took place at her work

All they did was add a couple cigarette buds and screwed up the ignition switch.

Other than that, everything was still there blink.gif

Oh that is weird. I was about to add that my car was broken into and they stole some presents I had in there on Christmas Eve a few years ago, but this really is odd. Good thing you didn't get anything else stolen.

sounds like the work of amateur thieves. probably some fool who thought he was a bada$$ showin off to his friends or something. stealing insurance cards and registration is another noob move. you can get new ones and report the others as stolen. and if they come by your place with the info they found on your registration, make sure you have a concealed weapons permit smile.gif im pretty sure you can protect yourself and your property.

merry christmas

it makes sense to me, the stuff lying around the inside is a lot easier to steal than rims or whatever. i wouldnt underestimate them, most likely they wont use the information they took but you should be cautious (stolen identity and stuff like that)

sorry to hear about that. just last thursday 12/21 my car got broken into and they tried to hotwired my car. unfortunately, they didn't do a very good job at it and screwed up my ignition and all. they took the bottom piece under my steering wheel off and it was on my passenger seat. wires hung everywhere. only thing they took from my car was my cd holder that held my cds, car registration and insurance. along w/that they took all the coins in my changer. how rude. they jacked up my passenger door too.

i know how you feel. i'm mad. thinking about it makes me mad still b/c first of all, its so stupid to do that and second...costing me $$ to fix my car too. grrr....

sorry to hear bout your car! at least you didn't get anything jacked up like mine!

you said a '91 honda civic or accord? but that's besides the point. that mexican guy is just probably a weirdo who doesn't know how to start conversation with you and can do nothing but stare and jacking your car is his demented way of saying he likes you. whether it was him or not, the thieves sound like joyriders and nothing to panic over. but still... do you carry mace? be sure you carry mace and know how to use it. Next time you see him, give him the impression that you're headstrong, confident, determined, not of afraid of anything, and all that good stuff. Don't show any signs of weakness. Hope that makes sense. If that sounds hard, then just get a big buff friend (or boyfriend?) to escort you down the stairs on a few random days to give that Mexican guy a dirty look tongue.gif

at least the easily replaceable parts have been stolen... don't worry, karma will catch up to the thieves.

oh, and i think the cops should take in the cigarette butts as it'll help with DNA linking, even though the case is not as priority as others...
