I'm sure most of you have heard of the "turu turu" style of singing right? I believe that's how you spell it sweatingbullets.gif. Most of you have heard it from JaeJoong of DBSK =P. Is there an actual name for it? Well the thing is I really want to learn how to sing like that. That style is a traditional singing style in Malaysia. I'm part malaysian so yeah....I kinda want to get into the singing tradition. Am I making sense? unsure.gif

Well I have vids if you don't know what it is.
These two are of JaeJoong:

and this is a Malaysian singer named Siti Nurhaliza.....she's really good at doing it ^^

I really want to learn. Are there any special tricks or ways of doing it???
Thanks

...that is so hard to pull off and make it sound good...

i'm just guessing from what i hear but... i think it's basically a trill of the notes or like a slight roll... when it's a trill it's different from a vibrato because it's more defined sounding. the volume of it changes more drastically and sometimes there's a tiny tiny pause between the notes... kinda hard to describe..

i think the best way to learn it would be to mimick lines of it... omg that girl is pretty... lol anyway...

here's a japanese one ^^ from blood+ anime

hey, i'm malaysian too. i didn't notice that it's actually a traditional singing style sweatingbullets.gif
is that what it's called? turu turu? lol.

but from what i see, it's a lot sharper than vibrato. you do vibrato in a relaxed manner, while with turu turu, there's more force put into it. is this correct? i'm still confused lol.

but yeah. like the person above said, the best way to learn it is to mimic it.

wow... first time i paid attention to such a singing style...haha
It sounds wierd to me...like the singer's trying to force the voice out of them....

turu turu....or is it tura tura is the name DBSK calls it (actually I think it's what koreans call it...?). I'm not sure if you know them. JaeJoong usually does this thing where he sings R&B then Turu Turu then Rock...which is what he does in the first video. I'm not sure if there's an actual name for it besides that...I'm sure there is....but I don't know it. Cool you malay ^^....yay.
