From my past experience with egg plants, I don't like them very much.
How do you cook an egg plant to make it taste good?

Microwave Quick Eggplant for Two

1 eggplant, about 1/2 pound
4 tablespoons olive oil
salt
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
Cut the eggplant in half lengthwise. Sprinkle the olive oil and a little salt over the top of each half.

Place on a plate and microwave on high for 4 minutes, turning once.

Sprinkle with the minced parsley. That's all. It will serve two.

thats simple and YUMMY!!

First you peel the aubergine in vertical stripes so it is black and white on the out side.
Then cut it half (vertical)

Prepare some sauce with ground beef (like bolognese sauce) fill the aubergine halves with this. Put them in a wide pot with some water (not fill the whole pot, only up the half of the lying aubergines) and cook. My mother also puts some green pepper slivers before cooking and sprinkly copped parsley right before serving it hot.

Another version of this is a cold dish, and instead of the bolognese sause like beef, you thinly slice onions (many onions) and stuff the aubergines with them and peeled garlic cloves + chopped tomato. Cook with olive oil.

I love both version actually. We also bake the aubergine in the oven (with the skin on) and when it is cooked we peel the whole skin off and finely chop add chopped tomatoes, chopped grilled peppers, very finely chopped garlic, black pepper and salt, olive oil and vinegar. This is a very good dip smile.gif

I have eaten fried aubergine slices with some kind of fish stuck in the middle, and it was YUM.

I love eggplant <3

In my family we use it for kebobs, pilaf, or we just fry it and eat it in a piece of pita bread

Did you guys know there are male and female eggplants?

mellow.gif I've had it when I was very young, and I don't plan on trying it again.

I mean the colour was quite interesting, but it tasted wonky.
