You Left out Dell?? wacko.gif wacko.gif, Anyways my vote's for = Other Since Dell's not on the list

And there all pretty much the same as far as music, pictures, schoolwork. The only difference is which shiny badge + price you would like to pay.

I'm with Other/Dell too. Apple is a whole different beast and can't be compared with the rest you have listed. The remaining choices are all overpriced for basically the same thing Dell provides or they just flat out suck. I am talking about desktops by the way (as opposed to laptops).

Dell would suit your needs and sometimes they have very special offers that are very well priced! Not to mention sometimes free shipping smile.gif

I recently bought an HP laptop, the dv2000, which is totally awesome. I love it!! I never thought i'd buy an HP product, but this one's been impressive so far.

I also own a desktop by Gateway. Its pretty nice and stable, nothing wrong happened with it and i've had this for about 4 years now. It's still going strong!

I was very close to buying a Dell laptop, but the price was too high for the laptop (XPS model), and i wasnt sure if i'd like their customer service (which is very important to me), so i just went with the dv2000 which got awesome reviews.

Check out www.notebookforums.com and read alot of reviews before buying, i think it helps alot.

when it comes to notebooks, most notebook companies have different lines. Dell for example, has the Inspiron, Latitude and XPS lines. The Inspirons are usually cheap, made out of plastic and designed to appeal to the average consumer while the Latitudes are much better built, tend to incorporate magnesium, and are aimed towards specific users. they aer also much more expensive.

Keep in mind the notebook buying thread on top, so direct your notebook related questions there.

i say custom built so youll have a better way of fixing it yourself if it ever breaks.

if not go to dell, they always have the best deal around also for notebooks.

Dell because you can get great deals with the right discounts and coupons.

If all you are doing is the typical common stuff like internet, music, downloading, and etc. Then you don't need to build a computer.

Without wanting to get into a disagreement with anyone, I'll just say my vote is for Dell (both desktop and laptop) and I'll just leave it at that. ph34r.gif

;_;

to keep it short, macOS an operating system, like linux, unix, and windows, and programs on it must be written a certain way, so you can't use windows programs on a macbook, but you can:
1. use bootcamp or some emulators for mac to run windows/windows programs or
2. download/install programs that are the 'mac version' of the windows programs you want

macOS also has a bunch of other features and things you might like that you can't find in windows unless you install mods or widgets or what-have-you...
