I have a minor neck injury from studying for a prolonged period of time (four plus hours) in the campus library with the same position. It really hurts and I can't move it and it's a big distraction from my everyday life. I wish I realized that I was actually in pain until it really started hurting. Argh.....

Just a (trivial) pet peeve about the free cosmetics giveaway:

If you check out the "Beauty" forum, you'll see many posts of "Wohoo! I went to Macy's and managed to get 7 Clinique moisturers, 6 Estee Lauder cream, 5 Lancome mascaras, 8 Vera Wang princess body wash, and 4 Dior perfume!" The replies would be "Great job! You're smart to stock up."

1. Do you really need all of that? And it's about quality, not quantity. Cosmetics do have expiration dates. If you open a mascara, the shelf life is 3 months. If you don't open anything, the product won't spoil as quickly, but still.
2. You see a whole bunch of people in line who look and talk as if they've never purchased a higher end brand of cosmetics before. The people who are actually eligible for the settlement claims probably don't care too much about the freebies because (not to complain since they are free) the items are not best sellers for the companies. When you think of Chanel, is it the Coco lotion that you are dying to buy? Probably not.
3. These items are specifically packaged for this settlement with labels of "not for sale" or they are not usually sold individually but as part of a gift set (ie all the bath gels/body polish). Companies do think about profits and losses so they aren't at a huge loss for handing out items that would have gone to waste anyways. In the end, nothing really is for "free."
4. ebay listing of these items. No thanks, I'd rather buy the original items at the counter, knowing that these products were made to meet the specifications for being sold at high end stores and not subpar quality that would have typically been cast off to your local Marshall's.
