how would u be able to get service for it though could u like take it to a verzion store etc.. and get it serviced

No. It only works for Cingular and Tmobile in America, Fido and Rogers in Canada, and GSM carriers in Europe.

Verizon is CDMA which means you can only use there phones to use there service. As for the GSM, just pop in the SIM card and it'll work.
