I m not much of a manual driver though i know how to drive stick.

but i have 2 questions.

lets say ur at a complete stop. and ur reving the engine to get the rpm higher so u can start going..
so ur in first gear and ur clutch is at the gripping point.. what if u rev alittle higher and kept it there(there being the clutch)..would it be ok ? ok as in would i be fine not hurting the car?

and my other question. from complete stop to first . when ur letting out the clutch (after its been pushed down to the floor) do u always keep ur feet on the gas petal down? or during the clutch pulling out thing, do u let go of the gas pedal at a point?

hopefully i make sense...

if not ill try and clarify..

ill ask more questions later.

Wasn't totally clear to me, but I'll try to answer some of it.

I would think that it wouldn't matter too much as long as you are not revving it super high, ie 4000+ rpm. Also try not to keep it there at such a high rpm either as I would think you would be cooking the clutch. So in a situation where you are going from a stop to 1st gear. You slowly let go of the clutch to get to the catch point and you slowly rev up while looking for the catch point. Once you get to the catch point you happen to keep it there and rev it a bit higher (god knows why) but it's still at a relatively low rpm..then it should be fine. For some people that like to launch that's pretty much feathering the clutching. Basically to feather you get close to the catch point and slowly rev up the rpms while slowly engaging the clutch. (No idea if that made any sense) It's not super healthy for the car, but hey..it works.

and my other question. from complete stop to first . when ur letting out the clutch (after its been pushed down to the floor) do u always keep ur feet on the gas petal down? or during the clutch pulling out thing, do u let go of the gas pedal at a point?

uhh, if you are about to get into first gear you need a constant flow of gas when you are engaging the gear, once you get it in then you can let off the gas if you would like...but it'll slowly get to a point where it might stall. So basically...yes you can let off, but your foot needs to be off the clutch and into a gear.

thanks

oh and 1 more thing
lets say i am already in first gear and im going at a steady rate. as in my foot is off the clutch and im just hitting the gas
lets say i switcehd to second gear

so the clutch is down and the gas is off...and i switched it to second...can i let go of the clutch all the way and then hit the gas...or do i still have to push the gas in while th clutch is going out?

umm I guess that really depends on the car..as I have managed to do it without hitting any gas. However, I suggest you gas it atleast slightly when going into 2nd.

The later gears like 4th, 5th or 6th can sometimes be done without even hitting the gas at all, but you need to make the gear change fast so the rpm doesn't drop too much between the shift. (If you haven't noticed when you do change gears the rpm drops a tad from what it was in the original gear) It's really all about rev matching when changing gears, you gas it to kind of match revs when going up a gear and sometimes down. It's a bit hard to explain without showing you, but you'll get the drift.

Don't gas at the friction point, because you are just making it harder for the gears to match up. If you do, you'll probably feel some engine vibration from the gas (my car at least), a higher rev, but you won't be moving forward.

I let the clutch engage completely, then gas. You have to gas it right after you are in gear or else your rpm will drop too much already to start gassing.

Don't press down on the gas unless you need to.

You'll end up burning your clutch and will have to replace much sooner

as for your second question,

It varies on what RPM you are at.
