unless the phone specifically states that it can be used overseas, it probably can't be used overseas.
japan doesn't seem too big on making a lot of overseas phones.

Get a 903sh. You can use it with Rogers in Canada but I wonder if you can find new 903shs...

They still sell the 7's, 902 and 3's in Toronto.

And yeah, they work in Canada on those networks

Sharp phones from Japan should be able to work in any country given that the phones are unlocked to work for those 3G networks.
I have a white 903SH from Japan that I bought in HK. I got mine unlocked in HK, which is just installing the HK/Taiwanese program of the phone into my japanese one (i think). The phone works in Australia, since HK and Aus' 3G network are the same or similar.

Just note that you may not be able to use the vodafone features like the internet if you join with a network other than Vodafone. Vodafone plans are expensive here... so I use 3 instead.

903SH has a good camera, but battery life isn't very good esp. if you use it to listen to music, and the volume is not good at all. Can barely hear your phone ringing in a noisy place. But to make up for it, the design is stylish cool :]

Up to you I guess; check that it's been unlocked and can work in your country first though. sweatingbullets.gif

I thought as long as your provider uses GSM, it would work. (And yes the phone should be unlocked in order to use sim cards from other providers)

as long as it's gsm and unlocked you can use it. some of the features like internet may not work though but you can make calls and text.
