I'm not sure if this is the right place. hope it is.

due to copyright issues, I cant use ripped mp3s for a ringtone; but I found out I can use MIDIs. since I'm quite cheap and dont want to buy mp3 online, I rather use midis.

anyway, anyone knows a good program to convert mp3 to MIDIs?

don't think it can be done. you can make mp3s out of midi but not the other way round...

you'd have to write the midi yourself which is not exactly easy. sorry.

If I'm correct, Midi works a bit like a piano. You press a key on a piano and a very spicific tone (Like "C") comes out.

Now with all of these different tones, you can make a song. But it would be pretty difficult to turn a BoA song, will all of the different instrumental tones and variances into piano notes and make it sound even halfway decent.

Computers have this same exact problem. They can make songs from notes (Midi). But they can't turn songs (Mp3) into notes.

..hope it makes sense though. lol. I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and I feel half-alive. o_O

There actually is a program that converts any MP3 songs into MIDI format. I think I have a copy of it somewhere on my computer. I'll dig around and see if I can find it.

Alright... I don't seem to have it on my computer. But for the record, the program is called MP3 To Ringtone Gold . I believe there's a free version you can get at the website here: http://www.ddz1977.com/
