Wow, this is the first time someone posted in almost a month lol.
Anyway, what's going on with Stay Gold? I really, really, really want to hear the full version! It sounds so mellow and relaxing, but I guess that song is on hold while she is busy working on both her Japanese and English album. I really have high expectations for both albums, since I feel like she has gotten more in-touch with her style. Although I don't doubt her abilities, I am hoping for something a bit different [and better] than ULTRA BLUE and Exodus. GO HIKKI <3!

American R&B artist Ne-Yo has collaborated with Hikaru Utada to release a digitally exclusive single, titled "Do You feat. Utada."

Ne-Yo has been working with top female artists in different countries around the world, such as Mary J. Blige, Natasha Bedingfield, and Sarah Connor.

For this collaboration, the Japanese pop star is going by the name "Utada," the same name she used for her English-language releases. The digital single will be available in Japan on November 21.

wow. i wonder how they would sound together since their voices are so different. hehe. hope it's gonna be good x] haha. ne yo is very good at collaborating with different artists so i'm sure they'll sound good together x] i love you, utada x]

^ OMO...Ne-Yo and Hikki, awesome collaboration! Ne-yo and Hikki are both talented producers/producers/lyricists, so I am expecting a lot from the collab! I hope it's a mid-tempo song, Hikki's mid-tempo songs never disappoint.

Amydien, yep, she confirmed that she was working on both English AND Japanese albums! Hikki is finally actively working lol, and I hope it won't take two years to make them both . I would probably buy her Japanese album first, too...Although, I'm pretty sure the English one would be easier to get my hands on. Hehe, I have the Single Collection, it rocks! I hope I'll be able to save up enough money by then...

EDIT: I just heard the 45 sec clip of "Do You" and it's...Errrrr...*Sigh*
I don't like it, it just doesn't flow well and unfinished...Hikki's vocals are so not-on-par to how she usually sings T_T. I hope it's just a crappy demo and that they'll fix it up and re-record it to make it sound awesome. What about Stay Gold?! I loved that song based on those short previews already lol.

I love Hikki and just about every song from her, but...I don't like that song at all from what I've heard. Their voices just don't go well together, we all know that she can do so much better. STAY GOLD >>>> Do You.

^ I definitely agree. Although Stay Gold doesn't sound like it'll be another big success like Beautiful World or Flavor of Life, I still think that it's a heck of a lot better than Do You. I like Stay Gold a lot from the previews, it's very mellow, and the only part I don't like is the beginning. The "Aahhhhhh~" part lol.
I wonder if she was pushed by EMI to do this collab?

i just checked out the full song. it's alright but it's not really suitable for her type of voice =/
the beat flows though. hahaha. i like it.

man the song sucks, it doesn't fit her voice at all. whenever utada sings in english she goes and tries to find her rnb "roots"she lost from jpop. i hate her cubic u style and don't want it back

Her voice is unique, but I couldn't even tell it apart from the guy's voice. :x

I think Hikki only sounds good singing RnB style in Japanese language.

I didnt like her Cubic U album very much either, but her First Love album was really addicting.

Her new song with neyo doesnt seem pretty catchy for me either. Im kinda scared about her new english album also...lol

utada is so slow on everything. When other artist release like 10 singles, she still working on the first one. She rather play with her bear.

she's almost done with the japanese album (thank goodness!) I read somewhere that she's working on the last 3 songs and she's kinda stuck. SOOO, I'm guessing the album will be released sometime around early to mid 2008??

And "Do You" is weaksauce there were no high points...very bland in my opinion. I hope this isn't a preview of what her English album will be like cuz that's VERY disappointing. Hopefully, it's not all sexual like Exodus. I can understand that she was trying to reach a totally different audience, but it doesn't go well with her natural style. It takes away from her amazing abilities as a lyricist.
