My Sony computer came with the Sonic DVD-RW burner. Yet, I can't figure out how to burn DVDs (trying to burn dramas to save space). I dunno if I have to download anything else before I can burn DVDs. But it keeps saying start a project and I duno what that's talking about.
I can burn CDs fine, make data CDs fine, and make exact copies (inc. DVDs) fine... Yet, can't figure out how to burn from my computer to a DVD-RW.
So, does anyone know anyway for me to burn DVDs? (And I'll worry about the subtitle thing later.)
Thanks

Well there are a few selection on programs, such as Nero for instance where you can use a DVDR disc to burn data or create a DVD that'll be playable on home deck players.

DVD(ISO) is used for burning data files to a DVD, meaning files that can be accessed on your PC.
DVD Copy I'm assuming is used to create 1:1 copies of DVD data discs, 4.5GB DVDs anyway.
DVD VIDEO is used to burn DVD files which are usually found in VIDEO_TS files for playback on home deck DVD players.
Certain files call for certain settings depending on what you plan on your choice of archiving. Nero is a pretty handy program to have at your disposal, so if you can do try to get your hands on it.

I too have the Sonic DVD-RW burner.
So assuming we have the same version, here's what you gotta do.
If you want to burn data disc, i.e. not make a DVD to play on a DVD player, here's what you gotta do:

Lastly, click BURN and you're done creating a data DVD.
If you want to burn a DVD to make a DVD which is playable on a DVD player, do this:

Lastly, click BURN to burn the DVD.
That's about it.
Hopefully this helps.
Good luck!

Your tutorials just made me think:: Maybe I have the version that can't burn DVDs (to watch on DVD players) because it came with my computer.... Or maybe it can.
Well, this is my version of Sonic. This is what it looks like.

Thank you for the help! And if anyone else can, thank you

If that's the case.....like the others said, get Nero cos you're probably using an older version of Sonic which only allows you to copy DVDs, not make them.
