there is a listening section, in which you have to pick answers in response to what you learn.
there is a reading section of signs, programs, and wutnot and asks you to interpret what it says.
there is also a grammar section which you must fill in the blank with the proper grammar.
=] i thought it was really easy...i got an 800, let me know if ya need any help. =]

And the grammer sections, is it in Pinyin? and what kind of the question do they ask?
keep in mind that my Chinese is really bad. Im illiterate, and I learned most of my mandarin from Chinese series/movies.

reading has like ticket stubs, lost notices, programs, just normal day things that you'd need to read and emails letters descriptions? things like that. lmao grammar section is with characters and also ping ying as well. theres four diff things for every question. tradtional and simplied characters then traditional and simplified pingying =]

SAT II- Subject Test, it's like one specific subject of the SAT. Like how the SAT I splits into Math Verbal and Writing. Subject Tests include languages such as Chinese, Korean, German, Spanish, Japanese...etc and Literature, US History, Chem, Physics, Bio, Math IC & Math IIC. Each test is out of 800.
Yes you can take any subject test without taking a class, but it is obviously recommended that you have. And it is in mandarin.

Do you know how to read zhu yin, pinyin, simplified chinese, or traditional? In the chinese sat II they gave you 4 different formats to choose from. If you can read any of those 4 and know chinese grammar, then you should take a chance at it. You should also try a practice test and see how you do. Chinese SAT II does not have a writing section if you mean writing essays and such. It's basically grammar and correct phrases to insert into sentences. Hope I helped :]

I've taken a diagnostic Chinese SAT II (which is NOT the real one, but is pretty similar).
I consider myself OKAY in chinese; I can speak it, read it, write it, yeah.
BUT.. on the SAT, there is A LOT of reading to do.. kind of like reading comprehension, you know?
there's always a lot of listening with grammar and sentence structure.
Basically, if you doubt your chinese skills, you PROBABLY should not take it..
I also heard that so many Chinese fobs are taking it.. and the test people are making the test harder each year.
I think you should take a diagnostic one first and see where you are, then decide from there.
Hope this helps!

Well, my mum bought me a workbook filled with all these Chinese SAT II sets.
If you want, I guess I can photocopy a test for you and mail it to you (if you want, of course).
Or, you can always buy the book online, but last time I checked, it cost quite a bit.
Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.com/Chinese-SAT-II-Sampl...4776&sr=8-1
There should also be a diagnostic test in this book:
The Official Study Guide for All SAT Subject Tests
http://www.amazon.com/Official-Study-Guide...4776&sr=8-2
Hope that helps

Do you think you can just scan one test and then email it to me?
I just want to take one and see how I do.
Thanks =))

Actually, you can get about 3 wrong and still get an 800...
And it doesn't really make a difference for the college people even if you are of chinese descent and get an 800. they treat everyone fairly. as long as you take another sat ii subject, you should be fine.
I just want to take one and see how I do.
Thanks =))
i don't have a scanner, but I can try getting a scan with my digi camera. I'll see what i can do.
PM me your email, and i will try to do it ASAP.

there is no writing section on the chinese sat2. before i took the chinese sat2 i thought they did put the writing section on but instead it turned out that they didnt. the only thing that they test on was the grammar and listening part. that's all. it was really easy. dont sweat it!

So my question is, does the percentile matter that much? Or is it your score that matters?

if you can't read chinese AT ALL, then i recommend you not take it. When I took it they had three ( i think) choices you could read from: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Zhu Yin.
i think you can get around 2-3 wrong and still get 800? i got one wrong and still got an 800, so i think you can get 2-3 wrong. ^^
