eh??????? wacko.gif I really can't imagine her as Saya. Saya was such a complicated character. I don't know if she can pull off playing her. I guess it depends on how the storyline goes. I just want to know who's going to be cast as Haji. I love Haji. they better not ruin his role. tongue2.gif

I think you underestimate Jeon Ji-Hyeon as an actress. Everyone who saw her in Windstruck and The uninvited knows that she is not just a "K-romantic-comedies-bimbo".

Anyway, I'm waitint for this movie a lot, because I love JJH and the original movie. But I guess I'll be disapointed, as I were with Blood+.

Hop ! hop ! here is Bae Doo-Na's thread ! (and watch Linda Linda Linda !!!)

lol Sometimes maybe people just assume, "Oh she's hot looking, she must not be able to act." dry.gif

I have confidence she'll be able to pull it off... the only thing that might draw her &/or the entire movie back is the fact that it'll be spoken in English- I don't know, I just prefer animes (& movies & series for that matter) to be left in their original native tongue... but then that would mean JJH would have to learn to speak Japanese lol

Anyway, look forward to it... Jeon Ji-Hyun kick some vampire ass!!!

I doubt if she'll be able to pull off the English dialogue....well, best of luck to her anyways smile.gif

Yep, you're right.
But I trust her. Much more than the script and/or the director dry.gif

PS : about actors playing in another language, I've got an excelent exemple with Bae Doo-Na (my favorite actress, I'm not objective). She played in Japanese in Linda Linda Linda (and in a part of Someday) and she was just GREAT ! In fact it's one of her movies I prefer, and her performance takes a major part in why I love the movie. She played in English too (the short movie Tea date).
So I think JJH can do it (even if she not as talented as Doona ^^)

This should be interesting...
I've seen the anime. Maybe I should get my hands on the manga.

I wonder how this will turn out. Few vampire movies are ever very good.... <.<;

i guess it's easier to Criticise and be negative then lend support, esp. for Asians in Western cinema dry.gif rolleyes.gif

I've only seen the anime but i'm looking forward to this. I hope Donnie Yen will be the "popular HK actor" who will be in the movie, or someone with his screen presence and martial arts ability

If you were looking for sympathy, Versus Villian and I aren't Asian. While I can not speak for her, I will say that just because Asians are harder to find in Western cinema, that doesn't mean that I'm going to support them if the movie sucks. It's the same for people of my own race and ethnicity.

Like many other comics and anime brought to screen, this has the huge potential to suck out loud, but we said that we would see it didn't we?

^^^ no i wasn't looking for sympathy, i was just saying that i support/applaud efforts made by ANY minority groups in Hollywood. Plus the fact that ppl say that movies will suck even before they have seen it, just so that when it comes out and if it does... they can say "i knew it!" or "i told u so" rolleyes.gif

but hey, we're all entitled to our own opinions right?

So are u just gonna see it to tell us how much it sucked and prove ur point?

i mean i didn't really like her movies "daisy" or "il mare" even before i saw them but as a fan of JJH i still went and supported her efforts as a fan

Consdering how utterly and completely confused I was by the anime movie, I'm hoping that the Hollywood movie will make more sense as a stand-alone work.

the film is set in the US Base in Tokyo so it'll be a mixture of American and Japanese characters. I wonder if the character 'Haji' will be in the movie though.. they're currently casting so i guess we'll find out soon.

and its ok, we're all entitled to our opinions. lol. We cant expect this to be liked by everyone.... i dont think it'll suck, it has great potential, with the right script and right storyline.. if it fails in that category then yeah.. it'll 'suck'. hope not though ph34r.gif
