I think part of the reason why CK didn't get it is because we recognize her from Kill Bill, and in a way she seems kind of typecasted, everyone remembers her as the psycho asian girl from Kill bill.

most well acted movies are box office flops..so having only one hit movie does not say anything about the persons acting chops.

though i also think Chiaki's perfect as Saya, but she isn't all that great either.. almost every role i've seen her in, all she does is her usual wide eyed glare..
i don't even know why you bought up that '(JJH) she's not even a good actress' since pulling off a character like Saya doesn't require that much 'acting'..
yes, its a typical Chiaki role.. but really, i think people would want to see someone else be that innocent looking young Asian in school uniform wielding a lethal weapon..

Saya was just so tough in the animated film. I don't see JJH able to pull that kind of role off; she was good in My Sassy Girl, where it was her job to be feisty and sweet, but she made a pretty unbelievable cop in the craptastic Windstruck.

Chiaki I can see in the role (although it would be a bit of typecasting; something JJH is familiar with, too!), but only because she's repeatedly proven herself in similar roles.

I think you underestimate Jeon Ji-Hyeon as an actress. Everyone who saw her in Windstruck and The uninvited knows that she is not just a "K-romantic-comedies-bimbo".
Anyway, I'm waitint for this movie a lot, because I love JJH and the original movie. But I guess I'll be disapointed, as I were with Blood+.

I dont' know how well this will work out. I think she's a great actress, but windstruck was a terrible movie. What a letdown.
