My first semester of senior year has almost finished and my grades aren't too good.


My overall unweighted gpa is 3.7 but my first semester gpa is only 3.0.


will that affect my total gpa ALOT? or will it only drop it abit? do senior year grades affect your grades alot?

If you are applying to UC's, it won't matter whatsoever.

If you are applying to privates (not sure about other publics), it will matter, but not by a lot. Obviously they would rather accept the person with straight A's 1st semester senior year than a person with straight B's. However, it normally shouldn't weigh that much. And don't worry, most people's 1st semester grades are crap as well. *points to self.. *

If you did already, i don't think it would matter much for public schools. as long as you aren't failing.

as for private, they'll take a look but i think fresh-junior year is what they mostly look at.

colleges mite not ask for your midterm transcripts... i got a 2.0 lol and they never found out.. and i still got accpeted lol but 3.0 isnt all that bad anyways.. you should be fine.

i think if you're applying to UCs you need to maintain at least a 3.0 gpa. so you're fine :]

I'm a senior with a 3.0. I'm cool with it though I would like to have a 3.2. hahaha but I don't know about how other people feel. I'm pretty much laid back.
I'm not too obsessed or too crazy about it.

This is true. ALL of of my college are Privates and it was hard for them to accept me but they did it anyways.

are senior grades weighted then? for APs? (A=5, B=4, etc) because my grades are terrible right now and i tihnk i would have a 3.0 unweighted

well senior year doesn't count all that much. unless you fail classes then that's when you have to worry. even if you started out with a perfect gpa and somehow ended up getting b's in all your classes and some c's, no college would revoke your admission.

at least u aren't failing...like me. i am so screwed and i don't know what i should do. i just hope the lowest school i got accepted into doesn't reject me if/after they find out.

d'u think my apps'll be rescinded if i wind up w/ a D in math as a final grade?
