I was wondering if anybody can help me estimate the cost to fix these scratches...







To cut the story short. Uhm, I accidently scratched that car while trying to park this evening. So I went in and told the owner of the car. At first, I was trying to settle it w/out the involvement of the insurance's company because I am fairly new driver. Her friend came out, claimed to work in the "Dept of Safety and Traffic", and she said it is estimated to be from 250-500? Is it really that bad... I have no idea. So the owner decided to get an estimation before getting back to me.

i don't think it would be too bad if its just body damage, you could try buying the paint yourself and doing it, or taking the paint to a place like macco, and to get the right color of the paint, its on the drivers side door when u open it, look where the door fits in and it as a factory number to match the right paint, if not you might just have to take it in and get it done..

well it depends on where you take it to go get it fixed. if its just a scratch, then roughly around 500 to get a paint job

those scratches arn't that deep at all


Wash and Clay the scratched area and use some Optimum Compound at fast peed with an orange pad
then polish and wax would do the trick

see if they will let u do it if not the owners prolly gonna do a new paintjob which then it would cost u 250 or so

Uhm, I actually caused the accident...not the other way around, but thanks anyway. My father looked at the picture and said it shouldn't be too bad, but then again pictures can be misleading. On a sidenote, he did tell me how stupid for 1) owning up to it and 2) let the lady take it to a downtown auto shop (are those really expensive and rip-offs?) But yeah, thanks for everybody help so far.
