A couple of days ago Firefox updated my version like they normally do each month so i just thought it was normal and it probably was but when i restarted it, all my bookmarks were gone (there was a lot) as well as my google searchbar which i really liked.

At first i thought oh well, ill just use IE and make use but then that started to piss me off because a lot of the pictures and stuff wouldnt load especially the icons. Also a lot of the little things im just used to werent there so i tried going back to firefox, adding all my bookmarks back (the ones i could remember) but it wouldnt let me add any bookmarks.

Ill go to a site, go to bookmarks and click on "bookmark this page" then the name and address will come up so ill click ok but then nothing happens. the little window still stays there and wont go away unless i close it or cancel the action. When i do either of these the bookmark doesnt get remembered.
One way i found to overcome this was to right click and make a new bookmark where u type in all the information like name and address but i found this really annoying and time consuming so i gave up after 3 sites.

Just then i downloaded a newer version of firefox hoping itd let me save my bookmarks and even though there are cooler looking icons and stuff, it still wont let me save bookmarks.

So, (now ive finally gotten to my point) i was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the recent firefox update and also if anyone could help me fix it cos its really annoying me to have to google everytime i want to go to a site i cant remember and search through all the options.

please help smile.gif

Hiya,

This is soo going to get locked probably so before it does your only choice is to uninstall firefox completely.

QUOTE
The only thing you can do to fix the problem is to back up your profile (C:\Documents and Settings\{username]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles), uninstall Firefox, delete all the remaining program files and application files, and then do a clean install. Then you can move the information from your backed up profile to your new profile, saving you the trouble of reinstalling all of your add-ons and replacing all of your bookmarks.
