My mean mean mean mommy is making me pay for a trip to Korea on my own. T_T

Except, I'M TWELVE.

Meaning I'm going to pay for HER AS WELL. T_T

What could I do to get some money? Because I just can't save holiday money, because I use that for my clothes.

My mommy doesn't give me an allowance, and when I buy something she INSIST that she goes so that she knows what she's paying for. dry.gif

Yeah, I don't get to control money... at all.

So what could I do to get some money? Besides like... becoming some hardcore drug dealer ph34r.gif

haha, how would a 12 year old save up $5,000?

^ Besides petsitting, there's babysitting. But only if you like kids.

Or maybe you sell things you don't need or use anymore.

babysitting...newspaper delivery...something that you can actually DO and still be LEGAL?

i really doubt your mom's gonna make you pay $5000 when you're only 12 years old. besides, you can't wait a few more years and THEN go?

I would like to help you out, but it would be wrong for an adult to help a child go to a foreign country on her own. My cousin is twelve and I wouldn't even want her take a subway, yet alone an airplane. How are you going to get around? Where will you sleep? How are you going to eat?

Babysitting...that's what I did. Now I have 2 jobs, and I still babysit.

Question for you though: Why do you have to pay for your mom?

DONT DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think you can get a job.
paper boy.
cause you're 12 so...

and i dont think that your mom will make you pay for both of you.
im sure she is not that mean.
she'll take care of you. or at least herself.

but you still need to work hard to get where you wanna go.
i know that gettin them greens aint easy but i think it's doable.

that's what i'm thinking... or a troll (is that the term?)

You can't expect your parents to pay for everything.. just wait till you can get a job , save up then go...
and just how would you go around Korea without money?.. who's going to pay for food and other expenses? It costs more than a plane ticket.

You're parents are not obligated to pay for your travel expenses.. if they were I would have been around the world by now.

My parents never gave me an allowance either.... I got a PT job to pay for my stuff

well, if you're good at Photoshop and coding you can make a site and offer web design for money

or if you have something to sell (clothes or something) go to the selling & trading section and sell stuff

but i dont know, its kinda hard for a 12 year old to get a job.

what the... i don't think you can earn/save 5000$ unless it's over x years. at 12, options are limited. even i haven't saved 5000$ yet...and i'm many years older than you. your mother just wants you to give up the whole korea trip thing i think

o_o unless you want to goto korea to see some family members bc of an emergancy, wait until you're 15-16 so you can get a legal job.

it's going to be tough to raise if you dont work & have no allowance. seriously. i raised my own trip to hk last summer by working a parttime job during school year.. barely made over 5k.

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... either this is a joke or you mom is really... koo koo lol. well i sell scarves at school. Each one I hand knit is 15 dollars. If i personalize it with names, it's 18 dollars. And since it's cold nowadays, i've been making a lot of money. You should try learning how to knit... lol I mean it'll take a while but at least it won't seem suspicious. you mom would probably think you've taken up a new hobby.

I have a question: What's a troll? ph34r.gif I've heard it but I never knew what it meant..

[Edit]

Nevermind, I found it~ I <33 Urban Dictionary.

One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. 'you're nothing but a fanboy' is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.

I'm not sparking an argument. ._. I'm guessing it has another meaning? sweatingbullets.gif

^ oops. I didn't mean that.. wrong term. I guess i don't know my terms... I thought it was like a joke that you wanted to see what ppl's responses are.

Yeah i agree with the another poster.. if this is real.. your mom probably doesn't want you going and is therefore demanding you to pay.

maybe you should go talk to your mom again. or maybe ask relatives for help. it doesn't seem reasonable for your mom to ask you to hand over so much money for this trip.
I commit the exact atrocities I abhore.
