Alright, so obviously this only pertains to ppl who have applied to USC.

Apparently, a friend of mine has gotten his acceptance letter to the NORMAL college (he did apply to the BA/MD program though) this Saturday. He says that another girl in his class has gotten hers...but to the BA/MD program. Then, another friend says HIS friend got his acceptance letter as well (no special program).

...and none of them applied ED.

I'M THOROUGHLY CONFUSED / FLUSTERED. lol

Is this supposed to be for the ppl who applied for the Dec. 11 (the "scholarship" deadline)?

Anyone else out there that's got his/hers? What's your story?

Anyone that knows WHAT'S GOING ON?? LOL

USC tends to do their process a lot faster than the UCs.

so does that mean we should all be getting them if we applied Dec. 10... (I sent in mine for scholarship consideration too)... or is it just random who gets theirs first?

USC sends out their letters really quickly. 2 of my high school friends already got their big envelopes too.

back when i applied, i got mine in the first week of feb, and some of my friends got theirs in january. i dont think it's totally wierd for students to get it this early.

yea that sounds good. but it seems like the ppl that have gotten in to the (regular college) are mostly BA/MD kids. so maybe they did them first. (a girl in my class got her letter).

and no mail today (for me). @_____@ jeeez. talk about continuous anxiety. i already have a few strands of white hair. LOL

Alright..

to clarify for everyone about the USC admissions process. They do NOT send out rejections this early. Their admission decisions come out in waves every few weeks or so with the Scholarship Finalists notified first. Most all of the individuals who have gotten their acceptance letter already are up for some type of scholarship. They notify these students first of acceptance because they have to attend an "Explore USC" program where they do their final interview for their scholarship. Thus, if you didn't apply by the Dec 11th deadline, I would not even worry about it. However, most of us are assuming they did not send out ALL the Scholarship Finalists with this first wave of acceptances, it will probably include the next wave as well.

After you get your acceptance packet, you then receive a Scholarship notification letter of what Scholarship you are up for about a week after. =] Hope this helps! Any questions, let me know =] Also, don't be worried if you didn't get it within the first few, the decisions are released all the way up till April, it's just these scholarship finalists that get notified first since the Explore USC program is somewhere in March/April I believe.

Also, even if you did apply by Dec 11th deadline, but did not make Scholarship Finalist, they do not necessarily let you know earlier of your acceptance. From there, it just varies. Also, the Scholarship Finalists are from ALL SCHOOLS.

lol Associate Director of Admissions =] and Current Students who went through this last year. Also, all of the people I know who have gotten in this year, have checked online to see what scholarship they're up for. And they are ALL up for a scholarship ^^

I had my interview with the associate director, so I do keep in contact. =] Hope that helped~

Yeah, I'm definitely freaking out right now. Everyone on CC has been talking about their red envelopes. I checked the mail today and I was so excited because there was a huge envelope shoved in there. Too bad it was OSU and not USC. >=O

aww I'm sorry..that's what I thought with the first wave of acceptances too..coz i didn't get mine then either! you applied to their RHP right? lol that's exciting! haha it is a really pretty package..out of all my acceptances..and theres been a few thus far, USC definitely has the most impressive! =]

haha CC is addicting isn't it? I'm still disappointed that I'm not up for a Trustee or Pres scholarship though. I'm prob up for Dean's..but since with NMF I'd get the half anyways..I was really hoping for a Trustee!! oh wells..hope you get yours SOON!!

Yeah, unfortunately I did do RHP. I didnt really care b/c I thought I'd find out in march, but then I go on CC and everyone knew last week. I just wish they'd tell us sooner if we got rejected. The lady said we'd know by March, so I'm hoping i'll know by this week. There's only so many spots for RHP and there's already around 5 kids on CC that found out. That doesnt leave a lot of spots left!

But it's sad because USC is so expensive, that if I don't get a huge scholarship like the trustee, there's no way I'm going.

haha definitely know how you're feeling..I dont think I could even go with a half tuition (NMF Presidential). Blah! haha I think you'll be fine though, I mean did you apply for financial aid? Coz you could probably still go with that package?

ohhhh snap jen! congrats. i'm still waiting for mine haha. and i live in ...LA pffsh. so don't worry. it has nothing to do with where you're living. only 4 girls in my class (of 86 girls) have gotten in so far. and typically 1/3 of our class gets in to usc. its ridiculous. i go to a prep school and ppl joke that we're the "usc feeder school" which is kinda depressing actually. not to bring down usc for all you usc fans! but for me. i'm hoping to get into the other colleges for the most part.

USC's got one of the best financial aid programs in the nation. if you really need the money, the school will figure out some kind of package for you, even if you do get a scholarship. my ex-girlfriend was a pres scholarship recip, but still got some aid in grants/loans.

and hahahah MALBOROUGH. HECK NO. pfsh. if i went there, i'd be on my way to harvard right now lOl. it's such an amazing school. but a bit too out of the way for me when i applied for middle/upper schools back in the day.
