no offense but why do u feel that everyone must like asian music, and NOT american? and like you said soompi is "mainly" about asian music, so why question his account if hes not into it? is he not welcome due to his taste in music? ur being narrow minded.. he simply stated that he prefers american music over asian music.. all you needed to say is agree/disagree. i remember makin a thread similar to this awhile back... and theres always someone like you who cant be mature about it.
and to the topic starter, i agree with what youre saying. i never grew up around an asian community so i dont relate too well to asian music, although i do understand a lot of korean. asian pop may sound more exiting and such, but songs seem to die down very fast, same with the artists. songs are only "hot" when they are new, and they easily seem to get "old" after awhile, whereas i can still enjoy american songs that are 40+ years old. some songs are just classic, and asian pop songs just dont seem to fit the category. and i def disagree with asian rap. music is very cultural and reflects society. rap originated in US cities and represents black culture. asian rap just isnt legit. i'd rather prefer some older asian songs, not too familiar with any but i do enjoy some of my parents old songs from the 80's and such. might check those out sometime.
I agree 100%
I do love asian music, but IMO american music is just something that always has and always will appeal to me.
There are sooo many different types of asian music and only like 3 types appeal to me (Korean, Japanese, Indian and yes Indian counts)
and I'm very picky about my k-pop music, Japanese music I get impressed because of how the music is, it usually sounds like an anime or video game and the japanese culture is animated in some parts, and I've always loved that sound that it carries since I was a child and the japanese music incoporates it's culture into it's music that's why I love it so much. Indian music, is just amazing I just love it because I can always move my body to it and once again it incoprates it's culture into it. Sadly I cannot say that about K-pop music because it's based on western music, but there are some artists who can just rock a genre without it sounding dumb so that's why I like k-pop.
But some people who get into asian music tend to bash american music, not out of interest but out of pride and that sucks.
