for the past week or two i havent been getting any sleep, well i do, but it would only be a few hours. i would toss and turn for HOURS. i usually get too mad and finally open my eyes and when i do it's like 4 in the morning, when i went to sleep at 12. is this normal? i have HUGE bags under my eyes now.

does this happen to you? if it does or did, how did you get yourself to fall asleep faster? i dont want bigger bags under my eyes ><! can anyone help me?

Didn't sleep and stayed up since 1 a.m. the other night, and I got home from school at 8 pm. I got knocked out and slept for 14 hours XD.

You could try...........................reading your textbooks to sleep better!!!!!!!!

I read an article about this before in some newspaper.. I remember a few tips:-
1) Exercise sometime before u go to sleep, sweat a lot. (do it in the afternoon)
2) Don't sleep right after dinner. 2-3hrs should do fine.
3) Don't lay down on your bed before you actually want to sleep.(i mean like your reading a book on your bed)
4) Don't think negatively, for example 'ooh man, i know i can't sleep today'. Don't worry to much.

I think theres more.. but i forgot. But i don't recommend you taking pills whatsoever..

read the bible. makes you sleepy.
Sometimes when people get rejected by humans they regress into a love of animals and even secretly wish they could be one of them. When that animal is a manatee you know the teasing was really, really bad.

I've been going through the same thing. But I think my problem is that I don't go to sleep right away when my sleepiness starts kicking in. I choose to stay awake so the sleepiness goes away and when I finally DO want to sleep, I'm not sleepy anymore (haha, like now).

So yeah, my advice would be to sleep when you start feeling sleepy. And not thinking too much might help too. If you think, "I'm sleepy.." or just have light thoughts, you might fall asleep more quickly. smile.gif

don't try to sleep
get up, do something relaxing (reading, watching TV, cleaning =/) You have to try to associate your bed with sleep...so like don't do homework on your bed etc. I learned this is psychology last year and it was one of the most useful things I got out of the class.

that happened to me towards the end of last semester. it last for about 2 weeks. i finally couldn't take it anymore so i bought unisom. that made drowsy for days, so my sleep schedule was fixed for about like a week. and then i couldn't sleep for about another week. but it's fine now.

yeah i use to have the same problem i think because i like to eat before i sleep and maybe the things i have have sugar in it so it keeps me up :/ but some ways to fall asleep for me is read a boring book or during the day make sure you use up a lot of energy like exercising or shopping i guarantee you a good night sleep biggrin.gif

Are you sure that would help? It seems to me, it'd just damage the eyes XP.

As for me, I have the same problem. I don't want to take any medication and I'm not currently stressed about anything. Hoping Soompiers will be able to help out smile.gif.

I'm like that too , I haven't adjust since comming back from Japan so my sleep is very weird . That's why i'm awake as I type which is now 4:27 a.m. I tried sleeping early because I have school today in the morning , went to sleep at 9 pm woke up at 2 am and ive been up since hah . I don't know how to adjust , if this was a day off id be up till now and sleep till 3 pm.
What I at least try to do is watch something , some really boring show and sometimes that helps. I'm still looking for other ways though like you , haha.

Try some sleeping medicine.

I know no one likes to pop pills every night, but just for like 2 or 3 days until u get use to the time. Then you'll fall asleep easier. Worked for me =]

exercise helps, too. the week i quit jogging, i started sleeping even later than before -0-
