I recently saw FF7: AC and was wondering, I'm not much of a source person, so I don't know where to find or hear about anime movies, can anyone recommend some good anime movies?

Anime movies or CG movies? I don't consider FFVII: AC to be an anime movie.

Grave of the Fireflies is good. Escaflowne the movie is good too. Hmm... Spriggan the movie is interesting too.

laputa castle in the sky, kiki's devliery service, spirited away...i could suggest one piece movies but you'd have to have knowledge of the series to truly enjoy them. cowboy bebop the movie is good too if you've watched the series.

These are some good recommendations, I think what I really ment was CG? movies? Not anime like Kiki's and Castle in the Sky and stuff, those movies were classics. I mean the quality of FF7-AC biggrin.gif

i like Voices of A Distant Star
the people are OK but the backgrounds are what really get me
also the storyline and the characters' emotions were really powerful
its pretty short though, 25-ish minutes
when it was over i just sat and watched the credits in awe thinking "what .. jsut happened.."

like completely cg? i dunno if there are many of those. but like junghwa_melowdeeh said, voices of a distant star kinda has a cg feel to it. so does beyond the clouds(or the place promised in our early days)

I don't think there are a lot of high-quality CGs like FFVII: AC because of the amount of money they'll be needing to produce it and if it completely flopped (like the Spirits Within movie), it could never bring back the money they've lost making the movie itself. In fact, I can't think of any worth noting. huh.gif

You can watch those stupid 7 pokemon movies, and the 8th one is coming up.

Or you can watch some actual good anime movies.

Others have said it too, but I think Grave of the Fireflies is great. I recommend Spirited Away like everybuddy else too. But yaa, watch Hayao Miyazaki films. They're very popular! ^___^

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki. I'm also a fan of the Vampire Hunter D films and there's also Blood: The Last Vampire.

And you can't go wrong with Ghost in the Shell...

Miyazaki didn't work on the film did he? I thought the director was Isao Takahata.

FF is more of a really pretty FF game-in-movie to watch tongue.gif It was pretty cool, I though. You should really see Howl's Moving Castle, I liked it alot better than Spirited Away. It didn't see as strange and the music was fine. The plot is good, too smile.gif
