Roni Tran Binh Trong is a Finnish singer of Vietnamese ancestry who rose to popularity after placing sixth in Idols Finland 2, the Finnish version of Pop Idol. He was born in 1987 in Thailand but has lived most of his life in Hyvinkδδ, Finland.

His debut single "Don't wanna be alone" was a radio hit in Finland, and the music video had similar success.

In 2006 he was invited to perform on "Paris by Night 84:Passport to Music and Fashion", a Vietnamese entertainment show. Roni's Vietnamese fanbase exploded instantly after he wowed audiences on the show, where he performed "Call Me", as Paris by Night is watched by millions of Vietnamese across the globe.

Roni is signed to Sony Records.

He GOT Great vocals... and a fluent Viet language speaker compared to the other Viets that were born or were raised oversea...


I like him... he'll make it far ^^

PBN made a great choice of grabbing him rite away ^^;; idk if he signed with them...


his other song, CALL ME is also GREATTT... i listen to it a lot of time ^^

I'm not the type to watch the whole Paris by Night Dvds, but when I fastforwarded to him, his singing vocals captured me. It was so good, english, vietnamese, or finnish; gees he's definately a gifted singer.

yeahh, i have to admit he can sing.
he can sing like those americanize people =D
i got to say the music video of "don't wanna be alone" is pretty weird.
i love the song "call me" though.

does anybody have a heart, that isn't made of broken parts?

I saw his performance on PBN and I really enjoyed it. I really like 'Call Me'. It's got a catchy beat & it's my style of music =)

just found out about him a couple days ago while youtubing. Must say that he can sing- but he doesn't seem to have the UMPH! you know? the thing that sets you apart from other singers.

and i think he was pretty good,
i especially liked his singing in viet =]

and im sure theres a better pic of him than that one ahahah

lol.. yeah that photo wasnt great.. maybe he's not photogenic.. but on the MV he's cute. Man i missed him on PBN .. lol i didnt watched it all.

I hated the lyrics to his song on PBN. tongue.gif I have a Finnish friend who completely despises him too. Hahahaha. He's okay, I guess. And yeah, that picture is kinda... crazy.gif.

apparently i missed him watching PBN sweatingbullets.gif i needa stop walking in and out of the room

i dun think it's a good thing to sign with PBN... thing with PBN, as is with any other overseas Viet production company, is that they don't train you. you get together and practice for the show they put on, but that's pretty much it. Most overseas Viet artists have real jobs, and singing is only their "nghe tay trai" (left hand job) if you know what i mean. the way it works isn't the same. it's better to do whatever he's doing in Finland right now, make freelance appearances with PBN or Asia, and we'll just support him as it is.
