Don't know what may be in store for me, since the whole n. korea ordeal. I really hope it won't affect my school's and/or parent's decision in whether I should go or not....

I want to spend half a year in Japan and half a year in S.Korea. But my mom doesn't want me going to S.Korea because of the stuff going on in N.Korea...It sucks...

What's it like and which University did you attend?
I'm not sure which one to pick yet since it's so far off-- but I have to start filing an application around October~

I'm currently at Hiroshima University. I've been here since last september and I'm here till August, so it's for a year program. It's been the best experience ever...I know that's what everyone says but it's true. The experience you have here is what you make of it...get involved with activities around campus, speak Japanese whenever possible. I know it's so easy to reply on English especially with the other exchange students but force yourself to speak Japanese.
I'm on the JASSO scholarship (really good if you can get one) and I've had a lot of opportunity to travel and experience new things. Yeah I think you get my point.

xD that sounds good I should look into Hiroshima University/JASSO scholarship.
Are there Japanese students that go to school there? (Students who are Japanese/live in Japan that attend Hiroshima University).
I'm just wondering because I don't want to go to a school where it's only American exchange students lol :X (I might as well stay in America then!)
I am only going for 10weeks though-- my school runs on a quarter system. That sounds super though that you get to stay for a whole year.

Uh to be honest I don't even know if such a school exists (just for exchange students). Hirodai is a national university. You should just check with your school to see what your partner school are.

Waseda University is another good one. That is where a majority of people from my college go.
It's in Tokyo and from what I've heard has a lot of opportunities to visit the rest of Japan.

my counsel or said it was fine only if i knew where i was going.. but idk where to go!
i wanna go for just one semester(:
I was wondering about that as well, I've been trying to search and search for anyone that has done this during high school. I'm planning on doing the Korean Language & Culture program during the Winter period for the course, at the University of Seoul .. Although I'm still in high school. But I've been trying to look for anyone that has personally experienced this program for themselves, and are IN HIGH SCHOOL as well.

im going to be a sophomore this coming fall semester. and im looking into studying abroad in my junior fall/spring semester. (dont know which one yet)
but the school/country (hk) does not have a link exchange program with my current school (uni@buffalo)...
is it possible to study abroad to hk then...?
i know i should ask the study abroad staff at my school first, but i live 8 hrs away from my uni so i cant visit their office until school starts and i dont want to call because im still researching... (plus, im on a summer vacation right now) XD

Yonsei's the second best college/university in Korea. I study there most summers in their summer program, the lectures in korean, you need to know how to write, read, and speak it or ur gonna have a hard time. But they help u alot if ur foreign transfer student. (IDK I might have a different perspective cause im korean and havent seen much english lectures in Yonsei, i mean its the second best school in Korea.) (I basically lived in the campus library while taking the Yonsei summer coarses, if that happened in summer... i cant imagine how a school year will be like)
I would study in USA first and move on from there, instead of going to korea off the bat cause your in love with Korea or worst case senerio: because you want to meet korean stars and etc.
Anyways yea, i lived in korea for 12 years and wanted to go to college there, but my parents perfers US colleges more then Koreas. I might transfer into KU, Koryo Uni, or Boston University in my junior or senior or grad school lol im uncertain of my future as of now
Hmm... is this true about having a guaranteed admission as a US citizen? I couldn't find anything about this on their website.
