really? I thought she was kind of annoying and hypocritical. I mean, come on, she's made millions promoting an unrealistic body image by starving herself. But then when she wants to get fat and let go because she's retired... just seems so preachy and fake coming from her~ And it's pretty obvious she dieted since then and bought a smaller size bathing suit to come on the show... the two figures are so different!
Sure, it's great to promote a healthy body image, but I that's not what message I saw.

sorry but i found her really annoying as well. it just sounded like she was just trying to explain the pictures to everyone to make HERSELF feel better... i didn't hear a positive message coming through to other people from her. i mean, she had a supermodel's body before.. then suddenly people start talking about her and her body because she gained a bit of weight... so why the need to make a big fuss and talk for ~10min straight about all the unflattering pictures of yourself in a bathing suit and how "that is my body, deal with it" type of thing. There's no need to analyze every pic, right up to the dimples in her butt.

I'll agree that we don't need to promote eating disorders as a way to look better, but approaching it as nonchalantly as Tyra did in this clip seems a bit silly and equally selfish to me.



But hey, that's just me and I felt like putting my two cents in after like 10 posts of 'yeah she's great, she's a good role model, she's a strong person' I thought I'd offer another opinion (which isn't saying she's not a strong person or a great role model, because she is, but I think her message is incomplete or misrepresented).

But the thing is, I don't understand what her message was. It sure didn't seem healthy though, because it just seemed like she was pigging out and not exercising. She didn't even mention exercise! Because starving yourself is not healthy, but neither is gaining a whole bunch of weight! And we all know that obesity is a wayy bigger problem than anorexia.

This is what it seemed like she was saying: I was really hurt when I saw this picture everywhere. This picture is sexy!
