yea so I was looking for movies (for a report) that run along the lines of dealing with cross cultural issues (ie. Western culture vs. Eastern culture) but i cant seem to think of any....does anyone have any movies for suggestion?

My Life dysfuntional ..
it's not a BIG SCREEN hit, but if you go to myspace.. it's there
it's like a small production.

Hmm.. the other one i can think of are the AMY TAN books.
ALL of her books are about Chinese girls assimulating into the US society
[it got boring with her stupid same themes]
but her book, THE JOY LUCK CLUB is a movie..

Hmm... other movies.. does MEAN GIRLS count!?

About korean migrants living in foreign countries, you can see :

- Love Talk by Lee Yoon-Ki (in the USA)
- The cut runs deep by John Lee (in the USA again)
- Go by Isao Yukisada (in Japan)

I also think about Adress unknown by Kim Ki-Duk, it maybe not what you'r looking for, but a character is the son of a black GI and a korean woman - globaly, the movie is dealing with the relationship between Koreans and US troops in Korean.
Hop ! hop ! here is Bae Doo-Na's thread ! (and watch Linda Linda Linda !!!)

Rabbit-Proof Fence it's about three mixed Australian aboriginal girls escaping the detention centre they've been sent to, trying to find their way back to their home. Based on a true story, when the white Australian government didn't want "half-caste" in their society.

The Joy Luck Club (also a book)

doesn't focus on 'cross-cultural'ness completely, but it's definitely addressed since it deals with mother/daughter relationships and such.

As far as I can remember, The Debut starring Dante Bosco. Has to do with Philipino culture vs being Americanized et cetera. Pretty good movie. ^__^
