like dark intuitions had expressed his/her opinion... u can compare his/her posts to ur posts.. i bet his/her posts are less offensive than urs ^^;; ... it's true that VN doesn't really have its unique nowadays fashion trends... i'm Viet [obviously]and i'm disappointed about that fact as well.. but hello?! isn't it the same in every asian country now?! even in USA, some white ppl dress like that too... it's not that big of a deal.. TT;; ... yea... again!! dark intuitions mite not think most of these Viets are cute/pretty .. but it's just his/her opinion... i cant force him/her to think that all these are cute.... tat's all ^^;;
-____-" I'm a girl. Just to clarify that point... And i didn't say that I don't think that anyone is not cute/pretty...please don't put words into my mouth like that, i didn't even touch on that topic.

DAMMIT! STOP ARGUING PEOPLE!
Ok. I know most of the replies are your guys' opinions, and I respect that. But seriously. All of your replies are useless posts.
That is *not* respecting our opinion--and it's hardly useless. No one's arguing...and no one in the last 4 pages since i've posted has said anything that was any more or less offensive than me. And posting to say that we aren't contributing is equally useless (or more so, since it does not even relate to the thread topic) by that reasoning. I wasn't trying to offend anyone in my post, so there is really no need to get defensive about it--as people have said, we are only stating our opinions. If they don't agree with yours, it's not up to you to tell us to go away. There have been some people who have been outright bashing the pics and the people in it, however, we're just expressing our opinion on the nature of vietnamese "attractiveness" (or more accurately, what is seen to be attractive) and backing it up with reasons. Just because we're not saying "omg he/she is soooo cute/hot can I have his/her YIM/myspace/site?" it doesn't make what we say any less valid to be in this thread.
"I've been to Vietnam before and there isn't really a fashion style to judge on because Vietnamese are really behind. BUT, when I was there, there are a few people who just have this natural beauty and I think these natural beauty sets them apart from other people."---I personally think this is really true.
PS: Sorry Viv, I didn't catch your reply before I posted mine. I'll leave and go back to places where people are less defensive. *rolls eyes*

, I tried to explained nicely in small concepts but not many seem to get it. Surely, its not an arguement but the thread could use less of these nonsense debates or whatever you like to call them. Comes to show why viet is late behind in fashion, cause when they DO try to change thier style or dress differently, some of you think its so f*cking mind blowing and can't grasp that concept. Just GET OVER IT!
Good grief hun, you get over it, we dropped it already.
I don't think any of us are really arguing cause I don't think any of us has bash anyone yet.
And how come this guy is rocking a "White Power" necklace? I don't think he knows it and I find it funny. Is it a popular trend to wear that in Vietnam because I'm very curious. http://i18.tinypic.com/2ywg8wl.jpg

i think white people will laugh their arse off if they see that pic!
I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR OPINIONS.. BUT THEN AGAIN.... THIS THREAD IS TO POST PICTURES... NOT ARGUING.... WOULD CLOSING THIS THREAD MAKE ALL OF YOU STOP ARGUING AND SUCH?! SO PLEASE... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... DROP THIS TOPIC ON HOW VIET UHLZZANG SUPPOSED TO LOOK AND NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE!!!
I don't think we're arguing. Cause I haven't seen anyone ripping each other's heads off. Stating opinions and arguing are two different things. I think everyone have been very respectful to each other.
But yeah, is it a trend to wear those kind of necklaces? Cause I know Chucks were quite popular over there, but the average Vietnamese couldn't even afford them. When I went to the Converse outlets, I was the only one in all of the stores buying shoes there cause the average people couldn't really afford them.
That first guy up above is really cute!! Shucks, only if I had pics of Viet guy`s/girl`s, I`d contribute. But my collection is most of K-Celebs. hehe. But yesss, keep sharing. =)

sorry.. and thanks for the clarification
and yes... if u r expressing ur opinion on the nature of Viet attractiveness then i totally respect that ...
but a lot of these ppl in the pics are natural beauties too... trying to pose in a cute way doesn't mean their prettiness is not natural... and yea... ppl perceive beauty differently... so this topic seriously leads to no where ><'' it just leads to the level that it mite be closed ><''
so yea?! please...?! i'm begging you guys... let's drop this topic =)
if u don't think these people are pretty or real uhlzzangs then just ignore their pics and look at the ones that wud catch ur attentions.. tat's all it is =)...
edit: Sector~ I didn't mean to use the thread arguing... but there's no word better for it... if u guys keep replying on each other's reply about the topic and it lasts 20 pages long then i or no one really wants that in here ^^;;

I think there are better words or phrases than "arguing", but arguing wasn't exactly what we're doing. There are a few pictures here and there that really catches our attentions so some of us have to post our opinions. If people can praise the pictures, then others can also state why they don't like it too, just as long as they're not like ripping each other's heads off in the process.
I personally think it's weird of that one guy who's laying down wearing that necklace. Wearing that white power necklace is a definitely no no for us Asians cause it symbolizes "white power." And I really think it's odd.
The Vietnamese Ulzzhang contest would only allow contestants to enter with photos that are not photoshop and I, along with other judges would be enforcing this rule very harshly/strongly on the contestants because I, myself would only want to see real contestants, not just some fake wannabes. And I, like you, believe in natural beauty, and it is soo hard to find a real natural beauty without make up, photo shopping their photos etc. But that's life and if people like to cover up their real selves (and be fake) to make them feel better, let them be. They won't go far.
Duy's cutee
it would be a must, then for all entries to be in high def. not low quality webcam or low quality in general.
just my 2 cents.
also, question: would the 'vietnamese' ulzzang contest require full blooded vietnamese participants? it'd be odd to have something like ursula mayes vs nam sang mi or something (sorry i'm not familiar with vietnamese celebs).
&. about my previous post, i edited it ^^ i usually don't intentionally violate rules, but i noticed this thread posts other non-celeb's pictures without their consent (see post #1027 pg 52) so i thought it wouldn't hurt also, images of american vietnamese people are in here too. but then again, i do not know if that is not allowed. i just never notice it in the korean ullzang thread ^^

Honestly, more than half of the pictures that everyone posted of Vietnamese "uhlzzang" or whatever that is, aren't even that decent looking. If you guys actually go to Vietnam and see these kids in person yourself, you'll think they're bunch of freaks wearing retarded clothings that don't even go together.
I've been to Vietnam before and there isn't really a fashion style to judge on because Vietnamese are really behind. BUT, when I was there, there are a few people who just have this natural beauty and I think these natural beauty sets them apart from other people.
about the "freaks" part, i second that. lol. people dressing like that in vietnam is purely bizzarre. even if you don't dress up and wear some jeans & a t-shirt, people will stare at you like you're an alien (i swear vietnamese natives can smell out americans). where do they get the money to buy such clothes anyway? are these really vietnamese people in vietnam? some of them, i can tell they are (ex: baggio? or something i saw on some page before). but people like thanh son & long (who dress well & take pictures at places with nice backgrounds) look like foreigners.
ullzang, critique; don't bother to read if you know you may be offended:
Spoiler
am i the only one bothered by thanh son's nose? it looks unnatural, pointy, and downright creepy. also, about his attire: when i look at him, i see a chinese boy. the bag. the jeans. the hair. the earrings. everything about his style. if this boy really is viet... is he a viet in a chinese country? that would explain my previous foreigner questions.

Hahhaa, yeah. My aunt told me, "As long as you dress nicer than the average people in Vietnam, you are a freak."
Well, there are rich kids in Vietnam who got parents to buy them all these stuff and some of them are models. I know Bao Thy is probably loaded with money. Pretty much most of the girls who are on that Audition show must have some sort of background with some money to join it. There are some girls who look very pretty if you guys watch the show and they dress really normal in the intro part. But once the whole make-up and dress up, it just makes them look really weird. Also, I couldn't imagine these kids speaking in Vietnamese.

dude .... it is call AN OPINION ... and u didn;t have to read it u know .....
woah this thread has grown 4 pages with just arguing... that´s so sad. anyone can express his/her opinion, but we´re getting nowhere when this extends to offtopic discussion. simply because offtopic talk is NOT ALLOWED on soompi. if you do that, at least post up some pictures. cuz that´s what this thread is about. okies? i won´t state my opinion, because i have done this already and a few people have already said what was in my mind.
the agelimit is 15-23? why won´t you guys make it 15-25? cuz i know this 25 year old girl, which is super super cute lolz =)
you guys seem to like Tri Van and Minhß... i´ll post more pictures of them later, ok?
K, I tried to explained nicely in small concepts but not many seem to get it. Like I said before... Ideal for them is to be ulhzzang, so dress and pose like ulhzzang. Also if you didn't know, "murses" or man purses are a big thing in Asia now. Not that hard to grasp guys, its call trend. Open up a fashion magazine one day, then go outside and look at all the DIFFERENT people following it. Its just like that, look at ulhzzang pic, then look at all the people following that. The way they dress, pose, take pics, etc.
[can't remember if this was posted before but I will post it anyways cause bao thy is <3] *giggles* tehehhehe
