^ lol I remembered watching the DVD on the weekend.

My bf's bro was real sure that she would win and then him and his gf kept on discussing how her nose is like Paris Hilton's. lol
She does not look 17 at all!!
There's a lot of pretty girls on there, but I wasn't too flattered with Canada's.

Net Idol suits this more since now people won't complain that the people posted aren't ullzhang material or w.e

I watched it last night and to be honest, I am very disapointed with these sorts of pageants. =[

off topic: plz do not read if you can't respect other ppl's opinions or just SKIP it cause it is lengthy:
It was more like a music show than anything else. There were like 20-25 minutes of performance from EACH singer (and there were lots of singers) and we get to see the contestants for like 5 minutes...

And to be honest, it was more of a Miss Vietnam California (I know...I know...cali is filled with viets) than Miss VN Global. There were about 3-5 international contestants from about forty contestants. What does that tell you? Not only did everyone look practically the same since the cameraman never showed their face up close...It was always from the head down to the (belly bottom almost), after 10 minutes of struggling to see who is who I basically gave up trying to see who is who. the performances? well, all I can say is that they were interesting...from very depressing songs about breakups and sorrows at a happy/glamourous event such as a beauty pageant to very provacative and dare i say songs with no deep meaning other than some either cheesy lyrics or about girls who are ummm..toys...angeline cat tien (a lil girl,,,was impressed with how she wasn't afraid of public singing and dancing at such a young age) sang "Life in plastic, it�s fantastic! / You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere / � / kiss me here, touch me there, hanky panky (me...what the...)� / You can touch, you can play, if you say: �I�m always yours.� / � / Make me walk, make me talk, do whatever you please / I can act like a star, I can beg on my knees.� ummm...beauty pageant is all about defining the elegance and sophisication of a woman or teen (there are teen beauty pageants after all)...and yet they allowed this song about girls being materialistic barbies and controlled like robots? fun song, but not appropriate.

i was also dissapointed that throughout the competition, we really didn't get to see much of the girls personality or what they like/dislike. It was just go out there and walk and smile...blah...Only the top 5 or 3 had a chance to say something, i wished that it was more of like the top 10 who gets to answer questions so that the audience would know the girls better. i definitely don't understand why a pageant that is supposed to encourage vietnamese beauty and culture would have girls who can speak viet yet choose not to speak viet and woudl rather speak english...Like huh? someone who is supposed to represent the beauty of the vietnamese culture would rather not speak viet even though she is fluent in it..ironic eh?

Drumroll plz!! I'll finish my rant with this..VN so far has been chosen to host Miss Universe 2008...(if all goes well such as facility construction, money, etc.) =)

and so that ppl won't complain much...I'll post a picture...

Jade Kira is mixed Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodian, French and Russian. (what a mix huh?..I like her beauty, it's much more refined and sophisicated than the cute ones that have been on this thread (nothing wrong with the cute ones, we just need variations..lol)) =) If you want to see more pics, then just tell me since i think that this thread prefers more cutesy girls..hence i won't post lots of her photos?)

Wow, I can't believe that they actually allowed a girl to sing that song? OMG, I'm just literally astonished right now. I'm seriously ashamed of the world as a whole now =.=" Our dignity is going down the drain, and honestly, I can see why guys stereotype girls now (not saying all guys, but most guys do). And it's great how you're introducing a variety of different Viet girls

Inconnu I agree about the pageant and I only watched like half an hour worth of it I think, more towards the end.
I found it hilarious when the MC asked one of the finalists which language she would like to answer and she chose english but answered it in viet.
It is disappointing that most didn't answer in viet and chose english. It kind of killed it.
Another thing that annoyed me was even though it was GLOBAL, most of them were all from the States.
The contest seemed kinda of bias with that.

Honestly, the ppl who do those cheesy photoshops are not popular on this thread. The only person who does those 'special effects' such as rainbow colors, glow look, etc. (cheesy..i know)....is Shuya.

Other than that, no other popular viet net idol does it frequently or enough times for you to remember it...
