I went on a trip to Las Vegas with my family last week. I only took my DSLR and 2 lenses -- I regret not taking my tripod because night shots were a disaster. Here are a few photos (very few compared to how much I took -- quite sad really). Please keep in mind that I did not have a tripod... Also there was pretty much no post processing either.

A picture of my mp3 player at the San Francisco International Airport. I really liked the lighting in the restaurant we were in for lunch so I threw my mp3 player there and took a picture of it with my EF-S 60mm macro and I was really satisfied with the photo. I've been with that mp3 player for 3 years now so it's my baby... iFP-599T by the way -- first flash mp3 player to have storage space of 1gb. Yeah I'm an mp3 player junkie.

I took this picture in front of Luxor Hotel (the pyramid one) -- we stayed there for the trip. It's really a nice hotel at an affordable price -- great location too (for anyone going to Las Vegas anytime soon)

The sphinx at Luxor

This was taken from a moving bus so I was really happy with it because I wasn't expecting much. It's the Eiffel Tower (1/2 of original size) in front of the Paris Hotel.

MY FAVORITE SHOT >_< This one I took during one of Bellagio's water shows with the Paris Hotel in the shot. It's quite amazing how clear it came out since I didn't have a tripod...

Meh this picture is just okay... It's the back of the super famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. Also quite an amazing shot because I took it at night on a moving bus without a tripod or anything.

Honestly don't expect anything because I didn't have a tripod (left it at home because I had too much other junk) and I pretty much didn't even use my macro lens (LAZY... T__T)... Grr... I really want a wide angle lens... ; _ ;

Yo! Omg, awesome pics Brusky! I love the first one and the perspectives you used on the buildings.

Cool, I see the list is up =D Yay~

Question...kind of n00bish but whatever...how do some photographers get their pictures soooo sharp without editing it? Like all they do is resize and bam it's crisp. Does it have to do with the quality of the lens (if so, which lenses are good?) or do you just have to get that perfect focus? Or is there a setting that you need to change the camera to or shoot RAW photos or soemthing? Haha, I'm still trying to learn more about my camera. Thanks to whoever answers! (I have a Rebel XT btw)

id say thats usually because they used a fast shutter speed with a good foccus amount of time
its all about exposure!

You can't bring both? I'd take the 18-70mm but it really depends on what you want to take pictures of... I hate having to decide between lenses too dry.gif

if i had to choose only one, i'd opt for the zoom for a better focal range, but if i had the option of having both, i'd definitely go with both. i carried both my 18-55 and 28-135 + flash while i walked around chicago for a day. it might start to get heavy or cumbersome (especially with the huge canon bag i have), but it's a small sacrifice for having the right lens at the right time.

nice shot of the lil eiffel minji; that's a nice composition.
that night fountain shot would've been great if you had gone just a lil wider and not cut off the right side >_<

Probably the F-numbers (dealing with aperture) and the zoom ...
