Wow, Goombi those photos are awesome!
I really like the set of 3.
I envious of photographers who are great at taking portraits.
I'm terrible!
But that's fine... the reason I bought my 40D was to photograph landscapes, nature, and environments more than people.
Thanks for the great inputs! That helps a lot. I'm aiming for the Canon one then.
Here I found this Canon 40D Kit @ $869.00

What do you guys think?
Those pictures I posted up top are taken with my 40D.
The nature photos were taken with my 28-135mm and the elevator & Bean were taken with the 24-70L.
For a price difference of about $800 between the two lenses, you can't really tell the difference when you print them out 4x6"
Regarding those ebay links, take a look at zgnouds response. The accesories are pretty much junk.
Two things I would make sure before you buy them is if the camera bodies are official US cameras or grey market. There's no warranty through Canon for grey market products. Also, the CF cards that come with it are most likely 3rd party cards and probably not reliable.
The seller feedback is great, but the price still seems too good to be true.
I can almost guarantee that the camera body is grey market.
Also, I looked up the lens on Amazon and it's a $50 lens that performs.. well... take a look at the link.
Tamron AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6
If you're going to buy a camera that's $800+ I would not advise attaching a $50 third party lens that doesn't perform well.
If I had another chance to buy my first DSLR, I would either buy the 40D w/ the 28-135mm again or buy the body only with the EF-S 18-55 (used) and the EF 50 1.8 (used).

While im still a learning amateur, i live by the mantra that the only thing you really need to produce awesome pictures are good lighting and solid composition skills. Sure, great lens help, but you really dont need $1k+ lens to produce great looking pictures.
It's a shame those lines were in the way. The picture is so interesting! I had to take a second look at it and found it to be more interesting the second time through!
At first I took a look and it and thought, "It's out of focus!" I realized the silloutte of the tree off to the right and thought that was a really awesome idea! Great composition IMO. (I hope you don't mind me putting that idea into my bank of possible photo ops)
