whats the difference:

http://www.walmart.com/Nikon-D40-Digital-S...Lens/ip/5607412

between the lens ?

It sounds like it's the same lens...

^I'm guessing he used a fisheye lens? That's so cool though -- it's like you tied up the camera to the ceiling or something >_<

Oh wow, I've never done a panorama yet. Did you use a tripod or just hand held?

Thanks! Hand held and some cropping after the images were merged together.

Overall which one is better for someone (like me) who is planning on learning Photography independently: Nikon D90 or Canon Rebel ( too many versions of the Rebel.. will search this thread for answers.)

Well, i am going to Italy (rome, venice, florence) and i want to get a good DSLR.. learning Photography would be nice in Italy, right?

Anyways, i hope to get something VERY money-worthy...

^ Canon Rebels and the NIkon D90 are in two different leagues. The D90 is better by far than any Rebel except for the recently released T1i (500D) which can be debatable. I'll make it easy for you, the three models you should be considering at your price range are the Canon T1i, Canon 50D, and Nikon D90. Personally, I'd disqualify the T1i and just compare the 50D vs D90 primarily due to build quality but thats me.

Price wise... 50D > D90 > T1i. Personally I think thats also the order of which is a better overall camera (not to say price is always reflective of whats betrter) but once again thats me.

^ thank you for your input. Well, since this camera will share the majority of my travels with me, which one will be more convenient for travel?

Being a long-time appreciator of great photography, its a shame i do not know anything about lenses... what investment lenses should i look into for macro and landscape photos.

If you're thinking about a camera for traveling, it might be better to get the smaller cameras, like the rebel or D40/D60. I think you should go to a store and try holding the cameras to make sure they're not too big for you.

imo, if you're not going to buy a pro body, the difference in dimensions between the prosumer cameras is pretty negligble. if i were traveling, i'd see no reason in taking my d70 over my d700. i'd say the size/weight of the lens you hang in front of the camera is going to matter a lot more..

You probably have too old a version of Photoshop so that the RAW files aren't compatible... You could either upgrade to the version you need (or maybe you just haven't updated it) or convert the files to DNG and then work on them in Photoshop.

I am slightly surprised the person who posts so many random things never posted that. I thought it was kind of neat short of the price tag. But slightly amusing novelty. This one was neat too http://i.gizmodo.com/5170780/pfft-this-nik...oo-small-to-use

Sorry for randomness

I woke myself up at 5:20 AM today (saturday) to get this shot.
Wanted to get the reflection of the sunrise off the Bean in Millenium Park.

Really proud of this one. I'm going to print it out and hang it on the wall smile.gif

Those lines when you zoomed? remind me of the projection lines I drew back in art lessons. I swear I've also seen another picture taken of that bean- was that your picture as well?

Nevertheless, cool shot biggrin.gif
