Lalala just stuff taken with the kit : \

I'm going to join the 70-200 2.8 club soon too, after summer hahaha.

I'm considering getting the Canon 50D to upgrade from my Xsi, so does anyone know a good place to resell cameras?

Nice work

Craigslist for local transactions and Fred Miranda/POTN for online listings.

Which is a better deal:
the XSi with the kit lens and another lens [I can't remember] -
or T1i with the kit lens?
There's about $100 price difference. [T1i is the expensive one]
[Sold at Costco-store. Sometimes costco.com has Canon DSLRs,
and sometimes it doesn't.]

I went to Costco and Best Buy
and experimented with both cameras,
but I can't make the final decision, so
I'm asking here. :]

I like those shots bubydub almost like "generic artsy shots" but I like how they came out!

I would try to sell at photography on the net not sure if you would get less though since they all know the prices

Any reviews on the Kiss X3/T1i/500D?
I played around with my friend's Nikon 5000D and I quite like it... Which would you guys prefer?

I've been using a Canon 400D for 1 year and a half now,
and for this summer my mother allows me to spend around 1000€
so I can get what I want.

I want to buy the SIGMA 12-24 mm F4.5-5.6 DG EX
but I'm not too sure because of the reviews.

And at the same time, I'm thinking about buying a new camera,
because the Canon 400D's ISO range only goes from 100 to 1600...and it gives me a hard time.
I've wanted the Canon 40D for a while now, but I'm still hesitating.

I'm not picky, so any advices and recommendations are welcomed.

I'd probably get the T1i because it's the new one with the latest digic processor. I also heard the ISO noise it comparable or beats the 50D! That's quite a lot to say about a rebel!

You should test each out at a local store and see what you like more.
Other than that, the D5000 still does not AF on non AF-S lenses.

just because some other models can push the ISO to 3200 or above doesn't mean you should. Most times, unless you're thinking about getting the 5D MarkII, the noise with ISO3200 will be too much to have a decent photo.
One thing that would help a great deal would be to get a flash. I never liked using flash units, but after going to a wedding with very low light, I realized that I could get natural looking photos (photos that don't look like I used flash) by bouncing light off walls.

lol
it's a universal adapter for manual lenses.
Nikkor
Canon FD
Minolta MD
M42 Screwmount
M39
Pentax-K
Practica
Contax/Yashica
and OM
Mounts all fit on that adapter
And the chip on the bottom is to serve as an "af" confirm chip.

It's a cheaper way to use good quality primes!
my om 50mm f1.8 was about 50 bucks, and i got my mintola rokkor 50mm f1.7 for 25 bucks (i realize they're almost exactly the same lens...but i couldn't resist at the price).

Konica lens also fit on the 4/3rds mount via a quick and easy conversion.

Thats really neat! So you just tighten the screws around it and it just works?

I know for canon depending on the lens you get some of them would be permanently macro lenses due to the distance the back element is from the sensor thus requiring a extra lens as a part of the adapter. Is there also a concern for that here?

tongue.gif so how much would a more unique lens cost (lets say a fisheye that would work on that adapter)

^^^^

Isn't there a major con for opting to use a universal adaptor? I'm still a noob to the world of lens and taking photos, but a friend loaths adaptors, which is why he's gone and sold all his Nikon gear and jumped on the Canon band wagon. Something to do with cropping? *shrug*

Hey, guys, I need some advice! I've been itching to buy a new lens for a while. I have a simple D40 and am currently using a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens. I love, love, love the lens because it's so fast and it good for portraits, but after a year and a half of using it, am starting to really feel its limits. I take a lot of pictures in the club scene and need something with a wider angle. That being said, I am not allowing myself a huge budget for this lens--$500 or less. I'm not trying to be a professional, photography is just something that I do for fun, but I do it very frequently. I mainly like taking pictures of people, but I'll definitely take pictures of landscapes every once in a while.

Right now, I'm eying the Nikkor 20mm f/2.8 and the Tamron 17-24mm f/2.8-4. Recommendations?

Here are some of the pictures I've taken with the 50mm f/1.8 lately:
