So I tried out for DanceWorks, this program where you make a dance team at your school and compete against other schools in the city and we all took our shoes and socks off. We were stretching and then we ran around the gym in our bare feet. My right foot is now sore and swelling on the side just slightly. Could it be because of the running or what else could it be?
Maybe the dancing?

prob. bcos you were running around on a hard surface w/o shoes.
soak your feet in some hot water~ you'll prob be sore for a few days, but you should be fine.

just WHO was the genius who told you all to run without shoes and socks on?? 
thats horrible, please avoid doing that unless you're used to running through the woods barefoot and have soles tough as leather
but yes, a hot water soak should do your feet some good

Get dance shoes and ballet shoes...I sometimes do exactly the same thing, but I never dance for that long for them to swell.

Um, you actually might've pulled/rolled your ankle. Theres that possibility. If something happened to your foot while you were running, the dancing made it worse. Probably massaging it lightly or soaking your feet may help.. but next time make sure you're wearing some sort of shoes for support : )
