The IB coordinator at my school said to me that if I don't get the IB diploma than there is no hope for me to get into a university! Because my grade sucks!

The way to study for IB exams depends on your study habits. I'm not sure how you should study, but sometimes notecards can help. Get a study group with your friends. Don't study the night before. Obviously, you need to study beforehand. I am curious, what exams are you taking, obviously it is history, english, some language either spanish or french or something, sciences, and math right?
Your teachers in your senior year are actually preparing you. You should already started on your oral commentary, your extended essay, your internal assessments and etc., and they would be sent somewhere unknown. CAS should be done as well. Prepare yourself.
Did you apply to colleges already? Well, you should already got your acceptance/rejection letters already.
Good luck on the IB exams. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.

Now, my hopes for getting the IB diploma are not very high anymore, BUT the experience will be worth it-(for college)
even if you don't get the IB diploma, there are schools that will accept you just because you went through the hectic process. YOUR IB COORDINATOR SUCKS!!! HE/SHE SHOULD BE ENCOURAGING YOU!!! DON'T LISTEN TO HIM/HER. If you really think about it, you only have to score at least a 4 on everything to get your diploma! All I can tell you is that you need to review and study...perhaps you should look at the exams from previous years. Right now, I'm reviewing a lot of the things I learned last year. What classes do you take?
My higher level classes are : English, Chemistry, and American History
My standard level classes are: Psychology, Spanish5, and Calculus
Perhaps, we can help each other. haha....

I'm close to finishing my EE and my IAs and they're suppose to be mailed to the 'World IB Office' this month. My CAS hours are completed. I'll be tesing out of chemistry, english, calculus, history, and dance. And yes, my first oral commentary is already done I just need to do my second one. And trust me...when it comes to study groups, we're a bunch of flunkies because we always slack off to a different direction.
I was wondering...what science did you test out of? IS IT HARD OR EASY?

Agree! Agree! Ib brings out the pain in my backbone!
To be really honest, I slacked off my whole junior year so my grades are horrible! My IB coordinator noticed that and urged me to study hard to get the IB diploma because he knows that UCLA (since that's one of the international neurology base) will certainly not going to admit me with the poor grade I got. And since my SAT scores not that highly-O-mighty, I'm in an even tighter spot!
And darn, so many of my friends are quitting IB just to the heck of it!

bs like mad.
how i studied: for history, i choose like the smallest events and read encyclopedia articles on it. i don't remember too much, but on the test u have to choose two questions out of so quite a few and write about it. if u choose something like the spanish-american war, u have much less to cover than the cold war. plus, encyclopedia articles give it to u straight to the point.
math: do some practice stuff.
english: bs like mad.
physics: be really happy this is multiple choice. look over the ib review sheets.
psychology: bs and read summaries on the topic. ib review sheet for this one too.
french: u just have to know...
i slacked off like crazy in high school. i never took notes so i didn't like already know the stuff on the exam. i hardly studied either. some of the essay answers u just got to know one thing and then really bs. i got 28 points on my exams ( i got 0 points from my ee, cuz it was like only 1000 words of crap

I think English and History were the easy topics. Spanish was pretty easy too. I didn't like psychology, but I did well in that area. I didn't like chemistry either, and math. Well, let's just say math hates me and I hate math. I thought the science portion was...okay? I mean...it wasn't that hard, and I do enjoy the subject.
Just do a lot of those practice reviews or those packets things. I am sure your teachers have some of those packets.
Right now, you guys think that IB is such a pain, but I don't regret going into the IB program. Its hard work. But, it pays off. You'll see.

i tested out of HL Bio, Chem, Eng, Hist; SL Math and Spanish.
feel free to ask me questions.
ps: the IB diploma alone might let you get accepted to schools outside of the US, provided that your score is reasonably high (probably at least around 30)

my conselor stated that IB will change in the future meaning that it would be twice as hard. I feel quite sorry for the incoming IB students because they'll have to take AP calculus 3-4 instead of just calculus. US system just doesn't match the out of state like England or so on. Trust me, japan is harder.
By the way, which year did you test out of?

I'm jealous of you because I don't even think my essay scores would be as high. This year is just so packed that I can't get any sleep because our teachers are rushing everyone with practice exams and seriously, they're all due on the same day! I learn nothing because the teachers are going too fast and gave us too much work to even have spare time at home to study! I don't go sleep to until 4 in the morning. Sadly...I only get 1 hour of sleep.
And yes, spanish is easy but I bombed my oral so...I got a 3. I have to make that score up by getting two 7s on two of my exams.

Exactly. My teacher says to apply to China international University but I say no because I don't have the money to go there.

But, don't worry so much about it. A study tip, if you don't like studying in groups. Do practice exams. Your teachers are to provde you previous exams or sample tests that IB world provides for you. And continue on practicing with that. Look through Wikipedia.Org [even though, don't trust it too much] & read information there. You could easily figure out your thesis if anything. I would recommend just doing plenty of pratice tests, until over and over again--you'll get the hang out of it.
Goodluck. =)!!!
