I haven’t been in the health thread for a while, actually I haven’t been on soompi a lot lately. So I really hope this topic hasn't already been posted.

I just wanted to give a little warning about tampons x__X!! TEST THE STRING BEFORE PUTTING IT IN!!

The worst thing happened to me the other day, I put a tampon on and when I was pulling out the plastic applicator, I realize the string came out with it!! I was so scared and didn't know what to do since I was in school x__x. I asked around and no one seemed to have ever experienced it so no one knew what to do. So as soon as I got home, I went online to do research, everyone says to "fish" for it or see a doctor and have them remove it for me, it was too late in the day to go see a doctor and my mom wasn't home to take me anyways. AHH!! It was just awful.

I thought I should give others little warning so no one makes the same mistake as I did =[ LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!! Test the string before putting it in!

Has this ever happened to you or anyone you know? While I was researching, I heard this was realllly rare, like 1-2% chance of it happening.

Edit -- I used tampax compak tampons for anyone curious.

never happened to me

if it did, I guess i'd just insert 2-3 fingers into the hole and pull it out, it's still reachable.

it's never happened to me but i'd probably just use my fingers to pull it out. i don't think it'll go far enough that you can't pull it out.

The problem is, I have never put my fingers in there, nor did I think of doing so EVER, so it was realllly awkward for me. And I had trouble putting 1 finger it, I don't know how people can put 2 . . It was really hard for me to find and I got really worried haha. My longest finger is only 3 inches =/.

ZOMG, a tampon-user's worst nightmare >_<~! I am a super paranoid person, so I ALWAYS check. Tampons just creep me out, but you don't feel them and they don't make a mess usually, so show them some love from time to time. But my parents buy my goods for me, so I'm usually left with pads (I hate wings and deodoranted pads, ewww, smelly). I have been into cloth pads lately, thinking of trying them. Maybe I should make a thread xD;

Wow, you were sure unlucky.
That's why I stick with pads, though they're pretty uncomfortable.
I'm scared to use tampons.

which is why pads, however disgusting they may look and feel, are still always the best method.

i have to say that don't use tweezers because if you accidentally tear yourself, that's as bad as having a tampon stuck in you or maybe worser.

also i'm pretty sure you can get two fingers up in there. i mean it's made to fit much bigger then two fingers anyways.
