Math Help? Question on slopes and triangles

I'm so lost. can anyone help me on this problem?

Lines with slopes -1 and -2 are drawn in the first quadrant intersecting at point (a, b ) as shown, forming one triangle with a side on the x-axis and one triangle with a side on the y-axis. What is the area of the two (shaded) triangles? (Write your answer explicitly in terms of a and b )
