[question] Verizon Phones are there any other phones to be used?

i was just wondering whether or not anyone knows if verizon is able to use phones other than its own phones, becuz i don't really like the phones verizon offers. and i know that it is not able to use many other ones becuz it duz not have a sims card. i just wanted to know if anyone knows otherwise. becuz i'm desparate for a new phone.

I doubt you could use any other phone with verizon wireless, I`m not pretty sure though. It doesn`t work like that, that one thing I hate about verizon, they have ugly phones, the most decent and pretty one is the chocolate ><

you can use korean phones, but that depends on location and how much money you wanna spend.

The ONLY other way of getting a phone that Verizon does not carry is by going to k-town, or wherever they sell Korean phones, and have it hooked up with Verizon's service.

The bad thing? It's illegal.

hahaha. yangster makes it sound super bad or something. its no biggie. The phone is not FCC approved, meaning its not "okay" for use under radio standards. Worst comes to worst? verizon makes you pay a fine for using the phone, OR some law enforcement with no life takes it away. Which is very unlikely, i have friends whove had their phones for years and nothing has ever happend to them.

Lol. It's not THAT bad. Although it probably did sound like it. I would do it myself if I lived near any k-town, unfortunately, Tampa FL doesn't have any.

Go ahead and do it. Just be prepared if you get caught.

i mean ive heard these urban myths where "a girl" has gotten her phone taken away by a "police officer" but so far only 1 of my friends was caught, and he had to pay $100 to verizon.

actually, i've seen somewhere that unlocking phones with verizon was protected under consummer rights this past november (2006). If it was illegal, wouldn't those shops be told to stop selling korean phones? I mean, it's quite obvious to anyone if they have flyers going around (OKCellular) that have korean phones on them.
