Oh dayum, only one week until the big day. What are your plans on July 6th? In my timezone, the results are released on Sunday at 5:30AM.
Mine:
1. Wake up at 5:30AM
2. Avoid making direct eye contact with the computer. It feeds on my fear.
3. Have a grapefruit.
4. Call friends to ask about their results...if the general consensus is that everyone got high marks, go to step 7.
5. Decide that my results can wait for another few hours.
6. Go to church and pray my ass off just in case
7. Turn on computer.
8. Pretend my computer chair is a rar and race my dog
9. Log into results.ibo.org
10. Look at results.
11. Die a little inside.

i'm c/o 2009 and i took a few IB tests this spring
IB business SL (useless. useless. useless)
IB bio SL (extremely easy i thought)
my scores come out july 6th.
some of yours come out on the 7th?
i'm gonna check as soon as i can. (pretty much when i wake up)
anyhows
my schedule next year (IF i decide to do IB)
keep in mind, a lotta IB and AP classes overlap
math (AP calc BC) SL
spanish (AP spanish) HL
TOK/philosophy SL
english (AP lit) HL
physics SL
history of the americas HL
tok and math and bio are SUPPOSED to be HL
but bio i took as a junior, so i cant do that
and my school changed a lotta of the courses from HL to SL
which sucks.
they're revamping the program but the current ib candidates lose out on the deal. *sigh*
on top of that, i'll be taking ap gov/econ
AND sports.
and the ee (which i'll be doing it on faulkner's light in august)
so.
in your personal opinion, is it worth doing IB?
for all you have to do, is the payoff good enough?
i know for a fact that the interviewer at brown didnt know what the IB diploma was (for the c/o 2007)
anyway. yeah.
and do you think it'll be worth it for ME (personally) to do it?
i REALLYR EALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY dont wanna take history of the americas.
what kind of class is it?
i just need input from kids who've finished the ib program. help.

Atm, I'm also contemplating on taking up Mathematic HL this year but I heard its way harder than SL.
get to know me

the individual classes themselves are not that hard
but it's a lot of coursework, and piled together, that's what makes it difficult. time management.
at least, in my opinion
and of course math hl is harder than math sl. (higher level vs standard level)
our scores come out this sunday!!!
anybody else freaked out?

Heh, you're in the same situation as me. I'm exam '09 though I did Math SL one year earlier. Anyways, I strongly advice you to just stick with the standard 6 IB courese + ToK, even if you've done two already. There's really no point in doing an extra one. Going by your proposed schedule, I see that you are taking two Group 4s(Bio, Physics) and THREE(?!) Group 3s(Business, Philosophy, History). Is that even possible? And why are Philosophy and ToK grouped as one course? They are two different courses. Philosophy is a 7-score course and ToK(with EE) is only a 3-score course. And Math SL and AP Calc BC DO NOT overlap at all. I'd talk to your IB Director about that. Math SL only barely touches on Calculus whereas AB Calc BC covers a whole year's worth of university Calculus. It can be overlapped with Math HL if the teacher decides to do the Further Calculus option, and only if.
By History of the Americas, I assume you mean History HL with the Americas as the HL regional focus. Basically, you'll be learning an extra year worth of History. In our school, the History SL syllabus is taught in the first year and all the History SL students take the SL exam a year early. The HL students will learn the HL portion the next year. Our school does American History as the HL option as well and from what I hear, it seems to be the most "boring" and "obscure" of all the options. You won't touch on any of what most of us consider as major historical events such as WWII, etc. You might cover things like American Revolution, Constitution, Civil War, Civil Rights Movement and MAYBE Cold War. You will also cover South American history, which from what I understand, is the "boring" part of the option.

alright. here's how it's gonna go.
for the six categories, i've got
bio
english
math
spanish
history of the americas
philosophy
physics i am taking because i gotta take at least one physics course in high school (for applications process, etc)
and business counts as nothing. for some reason, our school's program doesnt allow ib to give us credit for that. i dont know why. i hate it. but oh well.
and we do TOK in philosophy class. i dont know how that works either.
and our math department is weird like that. apparently, the math SL is INCREDIBLY easy. from what i hear.
our IB program is weird. it definitely makes it harder for students to complete the program, that's for sure.
anyhows. our IB coordinator is .. not friendly, so she wont be much of a help.
thanks for your input
but i'm just wondering if it's worth it.
i dont know. if i'm gonna be doing sports (which is likely)
i'll have 7 academic classes (5 of which will be AP, 5 of which will be IB) plus sports.
PLUS the extended essay. which i'm not too psyched about.
so pretty much i'm wondering if the payoff is equal to the work.
what do you guys think?
ps: scores come out pretty soon.. except i'm gonna be at work when they come out.
i think i'm just gonna take my PIN number to work and check it when it comes out, haha

You should've gotten your password and pin from the IB coordinator. For my school, he went to all the english classes and handed our info out.
You have to go to your school and ask for it

BUT PAIN IS FUN!
Math SL - 7
Theatre SL - 4
Considering my mathematical abilities vs my theatrical experience... this makes no sense. *puzzled*
4/5 is a fine score, though... I don't know if it's just my school, but people here seem to regard that as really good. :] No worries. (Also non-IB people will automatically assume it's AP and be amazed.)

the kids at my old high school were comparing their scores by asking how many 7s they got, and my gf's younger sister got a 40 for her diploma score which is ridiculous.
even the students my year that went to ivy leagues and other top schools got around 38 or so.
