okay well ive always thought of myself as kinda "overweight"
but my friends told me that i look like i should weigh a lot less than i do.
then they told me that since i did track and field and rode horses, that ive developed major muscle in my thighs, calves, & arms and thats why i weight more because i have more muscle in my body that fat. and that muscle weighs more than fat so thats why i weighed so much.
is this true?

i weigh like 35 more pounds that i look. even though im short i weigh a lot. PM me if you wanna know the "statistics" (weight/height) that would really help me too.

It's not a myth, its true. Muscles are more dense and packed.. so they're heavier. At least, thats what I know.

Yes it's true that muscles weigh more than fat.

That's why BMI measurements aren't always accurate.

You sound pretty healthy to me. Muscle mass is alot denser than fat. Some body builders don't even float in water!
Be glad you don't look fat...

muscle is heavier than fat. this is why when some people begin exercise programs to lose weight, they may find they gain a couple pounds instead of losing them - they are gaining muscle mass.
