"Sung Kang
Hotness is such a difficult entity to quantify. Is it the perfect bone structure, or some inarticulable animalism that derives its pleasures from, err, discomfort? Take Sung Kang, for instance. In nearly every film he's been in (and judging by the interview he gave us earlier this year), he's been a bit of a bad boy, but not the kind that huffs and puffs and clenches his jaw, and smacks his lips, and throws things (or people), but, well, it's like this: he's bad, he knows it, and he's not in the least bit impressed. Now that, if you ask us, is hot. Poster boys come and go, and we know better than to dub Sung the savior of Asian American cinema. (Even though we can think of at least six reasons to do so anyways: he's hot, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, he's hot, The Motel, he's hot, Undoing.) Because right now, if he were to read that, he'd probably grimace slightly, then unmerrily go about his business. Which, of course, is looking uncomfortably hot. -Chi Tung."

For those of you who don't know, Sung Kang played Han in Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift. He has been a struggling actor for 12 years. He has played insignificant, one-dimensional Asian roles in television series and movies in the past, but he is slowly getting roles that have more layers to them. I personally fell in love with Sung Kang in Fast and the Furiuos 3: Tokyo Drift.
Sung Kang is a very talented and versatile actor, and he has been in critically acclaimed independent films such as The Motel and Better Luck Tomorrow. Sung Kang has also recently been playing the narcisstic president in the Korean drama parody on MadTV. His most recent movie is The Undoing, also starring Kelly Hu, and it is a crime drama that takes place in Koreatown. I think he certainly has the rugged, masculine looks that could help him gain recognition in Hollywood.
Justin Lin, the director of "Better Luck Tomorrow" and "Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift," has recognized Sung Kang's talent and uses him a lot in his movies. Many people say he has charisma, a quiet but strong presense, and the ability to steal the show in movies. He's been gaining a lot female fans because of his "raw sexuality," "emotional depth," and "beautiful sadness in his eyes."
Sung Kang is one of the few Asian-American actors who tries not to get sucked into the stereotypical roles, although he was forced to many times because he needed to make a living; he seems to have had a hard life. In an interview, he said that it has been a blessing to be able to play more multi-dimensional roles where he does not have to fake an accent, do kung fu, and be in movies for an "Asian reason." He has actually been able to play roles that are Korean rather than Chinese or Japanese, which is rare in Hollywood's entertainment industry.
I think he is an awesome representative of Korean-Americans or Asian-Americans for the American audience. He gives great interviews about his views on the way Asian-Americans are represented in America. For example, watch this clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=cjcbjmga22Y.
Please help with the distribution of his movies and keep an eye out for him!
