i'm having a really hard time deciding what classes to take next year... unsure.gif
is it better to take two science classes and one elective,
or two electives and one science class?
i can only have six classes btw.
and the two science classes i am considering to take are Biology II AP and Physics H.

i'm so confused! wacko.gif

oooooomg.
i`m taking those two science classes this year [i`m a senior]
oiii.
haha i feel like it's kinda tough, mostly because AP bio requires a LOT of reading.
& my honors physics teacher is... eh. so-so... so i also have to read for that class, too, in order to know how to do the hw.. he doesn't really teach.
i think it really depends on you.
but i`m pretty sure no matter where you take AP bio, there's lots of reading required.
so just be prepared :]

if you like science, take both of them
i really enjoyed ap bio b/c of the teacher and my friends.. we all did it together
it was fun to discuss random biology things.. since it was right in front of our face every day

like someone said. it requires a lot of reading. i think 30 pages a chapter? and about a chapter a week. or a little bit slower than that. it's not too hard to understand. i think it's the easiest ap. that's why b/c so many kids do well on it, even if you miss a little you might get a 4.. or 3.

i don't know what physics is like b/c i had other required classes to take so haven't taken it yet. from what i hear, it's really hard... but maybe that's just them.. plus they were taking ap physics. do what you want. is the elective even worth it? (i'm suggesting take the sciences)

i personally hated ap bio, because i did it as an independent study.. and there was no one to talk to .. or make it interesting..
and i got a 3..
which yeah.. it was expected.. but i was a little dissapointed.
but my friends who took the actual class all got 5s.. but yeah.. you gotta read lots..
i would reccomend talking to the current juniors/seniors to get a feel for the teacher's method of teaching and its results... that will be more efficient..

Take those science classes if you feel like you need to know this stuff once you get into college. If you are interested in other things, take those things instead.

My senior year I took five AP classes and took one for self study (AP Psych). Honestly, AP Bio was the AP I didn't care about. I had self studied for the SAT II Bio test earlier in the year and if you are aware, studying well for one cements you pretty much for the second. I think with the exception of AP Literature, you can study for any AP by yourself and do better because you're studying at your own pace. Studying for AP Psych was honestly one of the best "classes" I've ever taken.

I've doubled up on science for two years. Don't ask me why. I actually hate science. -__-;;

But doubling up isn't that bad.

In AP Bio we read about 3-4 chapters a week. It's a lot of reading, but if you keep up with it, you'll be fine. Or you can be like me and read all 9 chapters the night before the test.

Physics should not be hard because only AP physics C is calculus based. Physics is a lot of math, just plug and chug into equations.

But don't be like me and double up on science if you don't like science. I really regret it.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!
