Just how low is "low"? It's subjective to most people, since we all differentiate "low" with our own interpretations.

But honestly speaking, I'll take your "low" as simply 3.5 weighted and below, and your SAT score ranging from 1500-1800 *correct me if I'm wrong. There are plenty of "good" Universities that you can attend with those scores.

You shouldn't worry too much about getting into a good University for your Associate's and Bachelor's in preparation for Grad School. Sure, some of your peers may be going to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton, but it really means nothing. Well, it does, but it's not as important as some make it seem. General Education always comes first, so it doesn't really matter where you take them. All that matters is that you keep studying and maintaining a strong GPA for transfer. You can easily go to a community college, and transfer for a new degree. It just depends on you. I've known many 4.0 GPA and higher students take that route. Or find a decent school that's known for its medical/pharmacy majors. There are so many different options to choose from, that you're not limited to just "good" colleges.

120 hours of community service, I would personally say is not enough. What extracurricular activities have you participated in? Band, sports outside of school, orchestra...If you're not cutting it in the classroom, these will give you a huge boost. Join more clubs and activitely participate in charity events like AIDS Walk, you know what I mean.

Admissions is random. Certain individuals get lenient admissions officers, while others get the strict ones. Just hope your's is having a nice day.

I'd love to make you a list of schools that you can consider applying for, for pharmaceutical science programs, but that's something you've gotta research. Location, atmosphere. Ladida. So you've still got plenty of time to decide where you want to go. Don't stress just yet!

What is it with people and being a biologist? Are that many people interested in biology out there? It seems like a backup or a default major. You don't know what to do? Oh then do biology. That is definitely not the way to go because biology is hard. You have to be prepared to face late night cram sessions, huge long periods of studying chem, physics labs, chem labs, bio labs, all while trying to be involved in the community and demonstrating your leadership skills for the med schools. It seems so ... not worth it you know? You have to really love it before you even think about doing it and it seems so ... whimsical the way you dropped the pharmacy thing I wonder if you are really that committed to it.

But if I guess you are serious, so here goes.

First thing is that we need to know your specific stats. Just saying something is low is subjective and not really helpful. How can you expect a solid answer if you don't give us the solid facts?

Maybe you should consider something else other than Johns Hopkins because not only do you have to get into the school of your choice you have to also succeed there too. Maybe this university won't be so good for you if you find it extremely hard to keep up in High School.

You need a 2100+ to be competitive in JHU, with three SAT II's, one of which I think must include Math 2C.

i dont think you should stress so much about getting into a "good" college.

you can become a pharmacist at any decent school.

i heard its more important that you have better grades in college so you'll find a good job and get into grad school, not so much the name of the school.

but if you truly believe that you must attend JHU as an undergrad, just keep working your butt off this yr and do your best. taking too many AP classes might kill you and even bring your gpa down. colleges want to see you take as many AP classes you can handle

Assuming that you are already well aware that you really need to boost the GPA and the SAT, let's work on the other things.

I want you to come back with a college that you really want and a major in particular. Most people apply undecided and they say that that's alright but I think that if you can express to people like what you really want to do, then it gives people more leeway to let you into their school. I want you to forward to me and everyone else reading your essay and credentials just how focused a person you are and why you are an amazing person to let in.

The things you should be looking for now is like recommendations, essay, and extracurriculars. Cut down on extracurriculars and find yourself something tha tis related to what you want to do. Volunteer at a hospital or take a couple college classes on biology. If you have a couple older friends, ask them to give you stuff to do in their job. Learn more from people and learn enough from them and about them so that they'll know enough for you to pick up a great letter from these people. Letters are important, most people don't think about them enough.

Like, yujo pointed out, since we're aware of your GPA and SAT scores, it's best to focus on other aspects.

It might sound discouraging, but I suggest that you start looking towards other schools. At this point, John Hopkins is more of a "reach" school. I believe yujo touched every point possible. If you're still aiming towards JHU, you'll need to get those Letters of Recommendation from your teachers, staff members. Concentrate on clubs and extracurricular activities, run for the position of an officer or help elementary students in after school tutoring, maybe even apply for a job. Prove that you have leadership skills and determination, even if you don't have the grades. Next, your essay must be near perfect. Extraordinary. It has to compell the reader say aloud, "Wow. Just wow. Our school needs someone like this."

Honestly speaking though, don't get your hopes too high. Senior year is one of the least important, and not only that it's your last year in high school, or because most kids slack off, but because it really won't skyrocket your GPA. Now, just by judging your current GPA, you weren't doing too well in past AP and Honors classes, so I strongly urge that you don't stress yourself out by packing your schedule with more than you can handle.

More on clubs and organizations, the National Honors Society is more than a one-time thing. If you haven't been part of it for the past 3 years, the last one isn't going to make much a difference. The Renaissance Club is a good thing. Keep that up. As for the Tennis team, it's the same concept. Unless you stuck with school sports before, being on a team in your Senior year won't help much.

But like I said, don't get your hopes up. I'll be frank with you and say your chances of JHU are miniscule considering that you'll be competiting with about 10,000+ of the nation's top students. I hope I haven't offended you in anyways. However, you do have options for many other colleges that specialize in pharmaceutical majors. Best of luck in all your endeavors. If you put your mind to something, you'll succeed.
