Main site: http://www.grindhousemovie.net/home.html
imdb: http://imdb.com/title/tt0462322/

"An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In "Death Proof," a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In "Planet Terror," a small-town sheriffs' department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called "sickos." A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army."

Haha, I was going to make a thread for this but I forgot.

I'm SOOO there opening day.

QT <3 Rob Rod <3

For anyone who doesn't know, there'll also be fake horror movie trailers, seperating the two films. I believe they're supposed to be directed by Edgar Wright (yay!), Rob Zombie (yay), Eli Roth (GAG) and one by each Robert Rodriguez and Tarantino. Don't quote me on that, but I think that's how it's supposed to go down.

I love how they're making it look totally Grindhouse-like as well. Very old looking with the dust/hair in frame, dropped frames, burns etc. They went all out. I can't wait!

anyways not really my cup of tea so i pass and off to see grudge 2 *don't laugh >P
Alice asked the Cheshire Cat `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

Got the official faux trailers titles/directors, if anyone's interested.

- They Call Him Machete (Robert Rodriguez)
- Cowgirls in Sweden (Quentin Tarantino)
- Werewolf Women of the SS (Rob Zombie)
- Thanksgiving (Eli Roth)
- From Dusk Till Shaun (rumored title) (Edgar Wright)

Anyway, it comes out in less than a month, start getting excited people!
There was nothing to fear,

BAH!

This is going to be so awesome. That is a great list of directors for the faux trailers too, with the exception of Eli Roth.

gaaawwwwddd I'm having such a hard time with this. I love Robert and Quentin's work to death. But I don't like zombie or slasher flicks. BUT this sounds so great, innovative, intriguing, and kickarse. mellow.gif I'll wait to see if I'll go and watch these or not. I like the idea that they're making it with the choppy edits, worn out film from constantly playing from theatre to theatre, and the faux trailers just like actual exploit B-movies is hecka cool.

So I've been hearing apparently Quentin doesn't have a fake trailer after all? I guess we'll find out. And Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving" trailer leaked and is all over Youtube now. I was gonna watch it (cause I knew it'd suck) so when they show it in the theater that could be my intermission to go to the bathroom or something lol. But supposedly it's "really good", so I'll be a trooper and sit there for 3 hours. I doubt it's that good, but even if it is it doesn't matter cause his actual films still suck.

I can't see it until Monday though cause I'm supposed to help entertain visiting family members this weeked. UGHHHH. But hey, I've been waiting over a year now, what's another few days? rolleyes.gif

The "trailers" are directed by Robert Rodriguez ("Machete"); Eli Roth ("Thanksgiving"); Edgar Wright ("Don't"); and Rob Zombie ("Werewolf Women of the SS"). Yeah, I'm not much of an Eli Roth fan. I also heard the trailer is very gross; which I wasn't expecting any differently from Eli Roth. rolleyes.gif And yes, not Tarentino trailer. I want to see Edgar Wright's trailer the most since i loved "Shaun of the Dead".

I wanna be family =\

I saw it last night and I'll see it again tomorrow w/a few friends. I loved it hahaha, it's so random and so good.

QT's role is so.. well he's Rapist #1.

edit. Ok, so I watched it again and I can't get around to how brilliant it really is. Every minute I was either saying 'oh f!" or laughing. Being desensitized does that to a person.

I saw the trailer in theatres and thought it was a bit ridiculous...but interesting.
I think Tarantino is highly overrated but I'll probably end up watching this too.

this movie was absolutely freaking awesome; i saw it two days ago and i'm still obsessing over it. the only thing i didn't like was that death proof started off a bit slow but other than that, everything else was brilliant. the machete and thanksgiving trailers are my favs and supposedly they're actually going to make machete into a real movie!
