If there ever was another arc after this massive one (and the chances of that are virtually nil) with a different story and all that, then they should at least show the trio slowly coming in their own skins.

^ agreed, but they're the students of the sannin. everything that's made them as strong as they are now comes from the sannin's training, but i agree with them coming out on their own and things. and i think it's being proven now. not only have they taken what they learned, but they're applying it into their own personal styles. it's just like anything else; you learn by copying, then by adding your own style.

I would agree with Sasuke having his own style (he doesn't really have much choice, now that Orochimaru's influence is gone); if anything, he seems to be more along the lines of Itachi's protege now, which I really don't mind cuz his powers are a lot cooler now.
Naruto and Sakura, however...I will give them more time. Aside from the Kyuubi and his clones, the only thing that makes Naruto's powers different is the approach he takes to doing them. He has to use a clone to use Rasengan, and two clones for a rasenshuriken, and my guess is that he'll probably have to use a clone for Sage mode. That's all well and good, but his arsenal is still limited to jutsu that was passed down to him. I'm just glad his ability to analyze a situation is getting sharper with each battle; it totally makes up for his lack of arsenal cuz I would rather watch crazy strategies than crazy jutsus any day (which is why Shikamaru is my favorite character, aside from Naruto).
