so,
HOW OLD DO YOU THINK THE LEGAL AGE FOR DRINKING REALLY SHOULD BE?
i think that 18 is really good. 21 is so old (compared to the 18 adult age) that it's so tempting for young people to illegally drink. and look at how much the US's drinking problems are! countries with lower legal ages have less of this problem.
but that's just an opinion.
soooo how old do you think the age should be for legal drinking? and for fun, why?

18 year olds = still in or fresh out of high school...that's how I look at it.
as for the other countries lowering the drinking limit...maybe it works for them but kids are brought up differently here, might have a different effect.

and i'm fine with that,
i think it's fair.
but everyone drinks anyways,
the legal age limit doesn't stop them.

Maybe because of everything I've seen on the news and all the accidents caused by alcohol.
I know for youth, it may be tempting to drink illegally, but I think that anyone near the age of 18
might not know how to drink maturely. I read about many accidents involving people from the age of 16-18, all alcohol related.
Someone said before in a post that 18 are kids coming right out of high school, which is true.
I am 20, I'll be 21 in a few months. Before.. I couldn't wait till I became of age.
Now I don't drink anymore but look at the law and the required limit,
I see it in a different way and I think that 21 is appropriate enough.

anyway, i think 18 is a good age. in other countries, they're even 15(plus, they don't have a problem like we do)
US kids drink still, no matter what age. ><

i feel that after the initial wave of accidents and incidents related to alcohol subsides,
everything will even out. i mean, look at europe. :| they're doing fine. HAHAH
but that would never go in america;
make it 16 or 18.

If it was 18 from the start, alcohol wouldn't be a problem right now. But since it wasn't, teenagers would not be able to handle this new sense of freedom.

i mean, you're old enough to join the army and shoot people, right...?
but you aren't old enough to control your own alcohol consumption...

US kids drink still, no matter what age. ><
i was talking to my dad about this, and he was telling me about growing up in mexico where the legal age is 18.
"well...you're a kid, and your parents send you to get a keg...you see alcohol so often that it's not a big deal. so you don't have such a problem of kids drinking illegally."
the thing with the age being 21 is that it becomes a thrill for 18-year-olds and 17-year-olds to get alcohol in possession. and in countries where the legal drinking age is younger, you get exposure to it when you're young and you learn drinking ettiquete, it seems. it's not as much of a thrill and so then drinking isn't as much of a problem.
