Better than I expected actually.
As the first AP class I've ever taken; it was my teacher's FIRST time teaching the subject. S/He failed MISERABLY. The whole 2 periods she talked would talk behind her back about how ridiculous her class was! She'd assign some regular WH work then suddenly give us a quiz (that btw, she didn't make up. It was from the textbook so basically everyone aces the test who looks up test q/a online before the quiz).
So on the day of the test, despite my efforts in reading chapters (I've missed 6 or 5 chps I think) and using Princeton/Kaplan--failed.
I actually expected a 1 or 0.
Do colleges see ALL the AP test scores you've ever taken?
Or can you choose which ones to send?
(Found out that most students got either a 2 or 1; besides this one student who got a 5)

It was my teacher's first year of teaching as well, except he knew it backwards and forwards. Though, I never payed attention to anything he said because I didn't start stressing until after the course was over. Princeton review book saved my ass. I'm sorry it didn't help you
Biology - 5
Environmental Science - 5
Psychology - 5
Statistics - 5
English Lit. - 4
Econ (Macro) - 4
Econ (Micro) - 3
[2007]
Calculus BC - 5
Calclus AB (subscore) - 5
Physics - 4
Spanish Lang. - 4
English Lang. - 5
US History - 5
I passed all of them, but guess how many of them my college will take? Only Calculus and Physics! so taking all of these APs, working my butt off, basically was just pointless since i only get college credit for 2 of them...T___T
Oh wow. You spent $1092 and you only get $168 out of it.
(If you payed $84 each)

but i hear she doesss weed out students who she thinks can't pass by the second semester =X so that's kinda.. wow.
her classes usually have about 15 students. not a lot of ppl at my school take ap calc anyways.

actually, it was all free. my school system pays to let the students take the AP tests, so students don't have to pay. we only have to pay if we don't take the tests. so basically i spent $0.

On the application (i used the common app), there is no place to put your AP scores, so you have to add it in yourself.
$84 is a lot of money, and it will certainly add up if you take a lot of APs. I do think that my scores did help me get into Stanford, but it probably wasn't the factor that made them accept me...taking AP classes but not the exam would be OK, I'd think.
So, I'd say you should take the APs in which you can actually get college credits for (Calculus, Chemistry, Foreign Language, Physics, Economics, etc.). You'd impress Stanford with your good scores AND get college credit if you do go to Stanford. $84 for 5-10 college credits at Stanford is actually relatively cheap and probably a pretty good investment. And maybe you shouldn't take the APs for the courses in which you aren't that strong in and the "weaker" APs (like Psych, AP Environmental Science, etc.)
Try to take the hard APs (Calc, Chem, Physics, Econ, and Foreign Language, etc.) on your Junior year, study your butt off, invest in AP exams, and get 4s and 5s in your JUNIOR YEAR. Then take other APs in your SENIOR year and just not take any of the AP exams at the end of the year.
I hope you get into Stanford! PM me if you have any more questions.

I'm a junior of HS now and currently, taking 3 AP classes. Last year, I took AP World History. Failing the exam with a two because of (1) It was my teacher's first year of teaching and she was clueless about the subject.. -.-; (2) My independent study wasn't enough to prepare myself for the exam. I'm really worrying about this year. Two of my teachers having very good pass rates (US History and Biology). However, my English 3 teacher is not as..great. So tips and suggestions will be awesome. =] Thank you!
AP US History
TEXTBOOK: The Enduring Vision ISBN: 0-618-33333-9
COMMENTS: I heard the teacher had good pass rates. And I also heard it was hard to pass his class with an A. So if his class is passed with an A or B, it's kind of a "guarentee" you'll be prepared for the exam. The thing I'm worrying/stressing about is--I'm not good with History!! I tried to teach myself APWH and failed miserably. My friend who also taught herself, got a 4 on the exam. Maybe better studying tips would be needed in my situation? Any tips?
One. What's the best study book to prepare for this AP exam?
Two. When's the best time to begin studying for the AP exam (apart from the preparation made all year with the aid of the AP teacher)?
Three. Is there any websites that became a good resource while you took the class?
There is a site I came upon, link HERE. It included some lectures so I was wondering if that gave a good summary of the chapters or not.
AP English 3
TEXTBOOK: None received except a novel, "Scarlet letter"
COMMENTS: The teacher never told us her pass rate. She's a real nice teacher and super friendly. However, I worry (and my friends do too) whether or not she'll fully prepare us (if at all) for the exam. Because one of my very very intellectual friends took her class and got a 3 on it. And that friend was very good in english too! So... ahh Dx
One. What's the best study book to prepare for this AP exam?
Two. When's the best time to begin studying for the AP exam (apart from the preparation made all year with the aid of the AP teacher)? Note: Something you can study for the exam for and teach yourself with.
Three. Is there any websites that became a good resource while you took the class?
Four What did YOUR AP english 3 teacher do in your class? What books have you read in the class? Poetry/documents?
AP Biology
TEXTBOOK: Biology; The Unity and Diversity of Life - tenth edition ISBN: 0-534-27413-7
COMMENTS: I'm actually confident I'll do well IF I put my effort onto this one. I'm usually good in science and I've had this teacher before. She, I believe, has a 94% passrate which I consider fairly good. She's been teaching AP BIO for over about 15 years so she has experience and knows the changes the AP exam went through.
One. What's the best study book to prepare for this AP exam? My teacher will give us (rent us, actually) cliff notes book on AP bio; but is there a better book on it? I know this one Spark Notes package with a big-card(3 brochere-like)-spark notes thing, flashcards, book--but is there a better one?
Two. When's the best time to begin studying for the AP exam (apart from the preparation made all year with the aid of the AP teacher)?
Three. Is there any websites that became a good resource while you took the class?
Four. If you could please, tell me your experience with the AP bio class and exam? And If I may ask, what your score on the AP Bio exam was?

There's more discussion here and you can get a lot of your questions answered:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/
As for APUSH, college confidential members strongly suggest getting AMSCO review book. I even got you the ISBN: 9781567656602
Even the reviews on amazon is amazing, but if you're going to buy it, I suggest you get it from the AMSCO website because amazon rips you off.
