Must be a lot of smart people in Soompi. Lol.
I'm turning junior this year, and I haven't taken
any AP classes YET. I'm taking AP US though.
I'm so scared D: I'm horrible at memorizing,
and to top it off, I'm horrible at history, period.
But it's either this class or no AP at all.
Any suggestions? Or how could I prepare for this class during summer? Help?

You should buy the AMSCO AP U.S. history prep book
I guarantee you'll get a 5 on the AP US history exam reading it.
I have the book btw, pm me if you are interested in it. =D
Oh and I got a 5 =D

I agree w/ prechuz_azn you should definitely use AMSCO. That book saved my life and replaced my textbook in apush class as a way to study for finals. I actually don't think preparing in the summer will help that much since there's so much to read and you might forget a lot of stuff by the time classes start and you'll just learn the same thing again but it never hurts to read things from the textbook or prep book.

Thank you prechuz_azn & ★ rain-a-sky ★
for answering my question (:
I will definitely consider buying the AMSCO book.
Should I buy it when school starts OR buy BEFORE school starts?
What if my Apush teacher would want me to buy a prep book for his class,
I don't want to end up with two prep books D:

Microecon, Macroecon, Calc AB 5 ♥
I thought I did badly, especially on full answer, so I'm relieved =]
How many APs in total do US students usually take?.. or is that too general?
I went to high school in Canada and so I'm just curious - there aren't even that many schools in Canada with an AP program.
My calc teacher always talked about how he had to fight the school board about it because they thought it was "elitist."

My school has a block schedule where we take four class one semester, finished those classes my Christmas, and take four new classes next semester.
I signed up for AP Cal AB and AP US history but I'm going to have to take both classes next semester. So, what my counselor says is that we have to take US history honors this semester and take AP US history next semester. And the AP tests are in May and I really don't know what to do. My US history honor teacher, who will also be my AP US history teacher was telling us today about one of his previous students who he had a few years ago in his AP US history, and honestly, it made me feel very stupid. I'm even considering switching out before even entering because I fear that I will fail. I want to take it but taking it and getting a bad grade won't help me a all! I don't want a bad transcript, what shall I do? who should i prepare? should I even take it because of my school's block schedule? Help my poor soul out.

AP Eng Lang - 4
AP Psych - 5
I was hoping for a 5 in APUSH since I was so stoked, but hey a 4 isn't too bad compared to my 3 in AP Euro >[
For people going in to APUSH, if you can remember all of the presidents, the terms/years they served and three significant events for each, it's gonna carry you through A LOT.

I think block scheduling is beneficial towards AP classes, you get more time for studying and homework (you know, if you procrastinate like me

Although I don't really recommend it, use sparknotes. The only bad thing about it is if you need the book on the first day or you take a test that requires quotes or stuff to that extent, you're pretty much screwed.

My school also has block scheduling. My school started early (the 17th of August) and I'm a junior this year, and my first time taking AP classes. On the first day of my AP Physics class my teacher spoke to us about why people take AP classes for all the wrong reasons such as boosting your GPA or wanting to be in a class with all your friends. Taking AP classes should be tooken either because you want to challenge yourself (i.e. you love it) or it has some relation to what your future major will be in college. I took AP Physics for 2 reasons, my major will be Computer engineering and I just love math in general lol but yeah, if you don't believe you belong in that class for the right reasons (or you don't have confident in your ability to learn in that class), I would switch out while you still can in the first 2 weeks of school. Hope that helps abit
AP Classes I'm taking this year:
AP Physics A
AP Physics B
AP Statistics
AP Psychology
AP Calculus A
AP Calculus B
Wish me luck
